A woody, smoky pineapple with a spicier, sweeter twist on the OG. It has grapefruit, bergamot, pink pepper, pineapple, nutmeg, and cloves giving it a smooth citrus punch with warming spices. In the heart is ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and rose adding a spicy edge. And in the base it has patchouli, Haitian vetiver, oakmoss, ambroxan, sandalwood, and tonka. It keeps Aventus’s pineapple DNA but adds some sweetness, spices and smoke. It’s not as harsh; more mature, warm, and distinguished than the OG Aventus. It’s a strong performer. 8+ hours longevity with good sillage. It can be worn year round and is fairly versatile. This is a favorite of mine and I highly recommend it.

Vulcan Sable is a rather good little edp from the French Avenue collection by Fragrance World, it was launched in early 2025, as an Oriental Woody dark, decadent aesthetic. While the perfumer is often kept under the brand’s house umbrella, the fragrance seems to be strongly influenced by the DNA found in the Chanel Bleu de Chanel Parfum, though it pivots toward a warmer, resinous, boozy direction. The presentation is particularly striking, featuring a deep sand-brown bottle adorned with a textured reptilian cap and a golden serpent coiled around the neck. You don't see that level of detail in western fragrances. It begins with a powerful, spirited opening led by a distinct whiskey note paired with the zesty freshness of mandarin orange, coriander, with a hint of anise. This boozy-citrus start is sharp & inviting, but quickly transitions into a creamy and aromatic heart. In the middle, cashmeran & tonka bean take center stage, with a velvety, smooth texture that is bolstered by the balsamic warmth of styrax. As the fragrance settles into its long-lasting base, it reveals a seductive finish of vanilla, benzoin, and patchouli. This dry-down is where the fragrance truly shines, an earthy yet sweet depth that balances the initial spice with a comforting, resinous glow. Performance wise, you can expect 5 to 6 hrs on skin, with a good projection for the first 2hrs. It has a noticeable but sophisticated scent trail. Due to its warm, boozy, and spicy profile, it is best suited for the fall and winter seasons, where the cold air allows the resinous base notes to bloom beautifully.
