Review: SA Shaghaf Oud Elixir & YSL LNLH EDP 2026 EDP
Doing a double review as i forgot to do both. Continued exploring the Shaghaf line from Swiss Arabian. Today was Shaghaf Oud Elixir. It opens up really nice. Made me go” OOOOooo”. Rich and sweet with a saffron and oud combination, backed by a warm praline sweetness. The opening is powerful and alluring. As it settles, the fragrance becomes smoother with jammy rose and touch of spice adding depth while the oud remains present throughout. The drydown is where it shines, blending creamy woods, vanilla and amber into something that feels luxurious and well put together. The rose is almost gone at this point. The name fits quite well. Despite having oud in the title, it isn’t a harsh or traditional oud fragrance. It smells more like a modern Middle Eastern inspired scent that balances sweetness, woods and spice in a very wearable way. Definitely not real but very likeable one. Performance is excellent. Projects strongly for the first few hours and remains noticeable for most of the day. Longevity is easily above average at around 10 hrs and it leaves a scent trail long after application. Really impressed by this one. It has the richness and character you’d expect from a more expensive fragrance while remaining easy to wear. For the price, it’s hard to complain. Overall an 8.2/10. I like the profile if this but the performance of EDP. Love this DNA and excited to try more from the line. Not the most unique scent in the world but it delivers far more than its price tag suggests. I would definitely pick a bottle up after deciding which DNA i like the most. Now the second review Tried the new 2026 YSL La Nuit de L’Homme EDP. It opens with a mix of bergamot and red apple. The apple gives it a fresh sweetness, almost syrupy feel while the bergamot keeps things bright for a short while. As it settles, the tobacco starts coming through alongside a red pepper accord that adds some warmth and spice. The drydown is mostly amber with a lingering sweetness from the opening and traces of tobacco in the background.
