I sprayed Dua Brand Tobacco of the Royals 14 today and immediately got that rich, smoky tobacco feel. It opens bold and dark, with a slightly sweet edge that keeps it from feeling harsh. The tobacco is the star, but there’s a smooth resinous warmth underneath that makes it feel refined instead of rough. As it settles on my skin, it reminds me exactly why people love this scent profile. It’s deep, luxurious, and confident. This fragrance is clearly a dupe of Opus XIV – Royal Tobacco by Amouage, and honestly, it does a very good job capturing that same royal, incense-touched tobacco vibe. Performance is solid for me. It projects well for the first couple of hours and then sits close but noticeable, leaving a classy tobacco trail. This feels like a cool-weather or evening fragrance, something I’d wear when I want to feel put together and a little bold. Overall, if you like dark, smoky tobacco scents and want that Royal Tobacco experience without the high price tag, this one definitely delivers.

I wanted something with a bit of an aquatic feel today but since the weather was still a bit on the cooler side this one fit the best. It’s a very aromatic marine frag with leather and woods. I think you could get away with wearing it year round. Projection and longevity are excellent which is what I’ve come to expect from Kenzo.
