SOTD/Review: Mancera Aoud Lemon Mint
The opening off the first spray comes in bright and sharp with lemon, immediately giving a vibrant citrus burst that feels crisp and energetic. Running alongside the citrus is almond and black pepper, which adds a creamy, slightly nutty smoothness with a subtle spicy kick that keeps the lemon from feeling too simple. It’s a very distinctive opening - fresh, slightly sweet and spicy all at once. As the fragrance settles, the heart starts to reveal more depth with mint, patchouli and oud coming forward. The mint adds a cool aromatic lift that keeps the fragrance feeling fresh, while the patchouli brings an earthy backbone. The oud here isn’t heavy or animalic; instead it sits quietly in the background adding a woody richness that balances the brighter notes rather than dominating them. As it moves into the dry down, the scent becomes warmer and smoother with vanilla, amber, leather and white musk creating a creamy, slightly sweet base that sits comfortably on the skin. The vanilla softens the woods, the amber adds warmth, and the leather gives a subtle masculine edge that keeps everything feeling structured and sophisticated. Performance is excellent, easily 8+ hours longevity with strong projection in the first few hours, leaving a noticeable citrus-woody trail that people will pick up on. Overall rating: 8.8/10 This was in fact a blind-buy which I’d say I did well with. It has a unique blend of fresh citrus, cool mint and smooth woods, making it one of the more approachable oud fragrances while still having that bold Mancera character. I think it’ll work well in warmer weather but still has enough depth to carry into the evening, giving off a vibe that’s both refreshing and luxurious at the same time.
