This is precisely the kind of weather I've been anticipating to wear this particular perfume. It possesses a rich, masculine, and gourmand aroma. While this scent might be perceived as exotic by many Europeans, for those of us from the Indian subcontinent, it evokes a strong sense of nostalgia. The prominent kulfi note truly stands out and captivates the senses.

D is for Dior Ambre Nuit - REVIEW
This was another sample from the brotherhood. Thank you @Nestor Lopez for the generous decant. I really enjoyed wearing it. I was able to get 5 days out of it before the sample ran out, and I am very grateful for the opportunity and the experience. Ambre Nuit is part of Dior's prestige La Collection Privée line. The collection is meant to sit apart from their mainstream offerings and represent a more rarified, artisanal side for their house. The perfumer is François Demachy, who came from Chanel to Dior in 2006 and was Dior's in-house perfumer until his retirement in 2021. He is regarded as one of the top perfumers in his field, and was known for his use of natural materials and notes inspired by his home in Grasse. Ambre Nuit was released in 2009, and is widely considered one of the crown jewels of the collection and a high watermark of his career. Notes: Top - Bergamot, Grapefruit Middle - Damask Rose, Pink Pepper Base - Ambergris, Guaiac Wood, Cedar, Patchouli Scent: 9.0 Ambre Nuit is warm and nocturnal. The citrus in the top is merely a bon mot, and it quickly dries down into the main course. The ambergris anchors everything without dominating. This isn't synthetic ambroxin - it's actual ambergris, which is a rare and expensive ingredient. It creates a musky, salty-sweet, creamy character that is addicting. It's velvety with a subtle sweetness that keeps the whole thing grounded and balanced. The patchouli and woods give it some earthiness that feels rooted and warm. This is effortlessly elegant, It's old money quiet confidence that doesn't need to show off or try too hard. Longevity: 10 This is a cold weather fragrance, or at least better suited to evenings and formal occasions. While it stays close to the skin, it isn't a skin scent, and it does project warmly throughout the day and well into the evening. I put it on in the morning and could still pick it up when I went to bed. It's an EDP, so that longevity is impressive, but it also feels right. It goes on, and then, like a perfect house guest, stays only as long as it needs to, and leaves when appropriate, all the while behaving itself and being a good conversationalist.

They broke the mold with the original LB, an almost perfect clone of my favourite PDM Althair. So I guess it's no supriss that in 2026 fragrance World would try and cash in on this remarkable success like all the designer houses do with their various flankers. So I guess the million dollar question to ask? Is it any good? It's claimed to be a structural overhaul, with a change from parfum to extrait territory and It comes in a larger 150ml bottle. Straight off the bat, I'm still getting that gorgeous LB vibe, perhaps not as gormand as the og. That sugary sweetness has been toned down a touch, but you won't mistake it for something else that's for sure. It opens with Cardamon, a zesty citrus & lavender. The Limited Edition replaces the spice rack vibe of the OG with a crisp, aromatic lavender and fresh citrus, making it feel more refined and less like a dessert. At the core, Orange Blossom, Rose, Guaiac Wood. The heart is floral yet smoky. The addition of Rose adds a jammy richness, while Guaiac Wood adds a dark, woody backbone. The base contains, Bourbon Vanilla, Amber, Tonka Bean & Oakmoss. Giving a dense & resinous dry down. The Oakmoss is the standout change here, giving the vanilla a grounded, slightly earthy finish. As an extrait it performs quite well, I'm still catching glimpses after a full 10hr day. Go easy on the trigger 2 to 4 sprays are enough to fill a room for the first 4 hrs. After which it forms a dense scent bubble to carry you through the day. This is still a flanker, but a bamn good one, it smell identical initially, but give it time on your skin to appreciate the differences, it's a smotter more refined fragrance, leans more niche than budget clone for me. Whilst the OG was for lovers of pure, sweet gourmands and heavy cinnamon. The LE is for power users who want more complexity. If you want a nuclear-performing winter fragrance that smells expensive and lasts all day, this is worth a try
