Good Morning Fragrance Family. I hope everyone is stepping into this day with gratitude and purpose. It is shaping up to be a very busy one on my end with a full schedule at work, so today calls for something dependable, refined, and quietly powerful to carry me through the pace of the day. My scent of the day is Acqua di Parma Oud Eau de Parfum, a fragrance I have not reached for in quite some time but one that immediately reminded me why it has a place in the collection. This composition is beautifully balanced. The opening carries a bright citrus sparkle that the house is known for, but it quickly settles into a rich, woody heart where the oud begins to show itself with elegance rather than aggression. It is smooth, slightly smoky, and wrapped in a warm amber sweetness that gives the fragrance both presence and sophistication. What I appreciate most about this one is how refined it feels. The oud is not the barnyard, animalic kind that punches you in the face. Instead it is polished and well behaved, layered with citrus, woods, and subtle spice in a way that feels distinctly Italian in its elegance. It projects confidently without being overwhelming and leaves a refined scent trail that lingers throughout the day. Sometimes revisiting a fragrance you have not worn in a while feels like reconnecting with an old friend. Today felt like the perfect moment for that. I finally receive the Extrait of the Satin Mood by MFK!! I have been enjoying the EDP, The extract had been on backorder for quite a while because of the Holiday's, but it arrived last week and I couldn't hold out any longer!! This is a very vanilla forward Oud. Definitely has wood and amber with powder along side. BEWARE - the overspray can be hard to manage as I tried it one evening and forgot I was spraying the extrait 😳. It was SO overpowering I almost thought I'd made a mistake in purchasing. However, it is all my fault. Today is a 2 spray day and it is PERFECT. Just the right amount of projection even from the start. After a couple of hours into the dry down, I get just the right amount of sniff as I move and is not offensive to me or anyone in the office. I am also getting much more of the warmth spiciness with some freshness. I fully expect this powerhouse to last 10+hrs. While this can be an expensive addition, I still go by my policy if its a scent that only needs 2 sprays for the day and the longevity is there, then it becomes worth the money to me.
