SOTD: Acqua di Giò edt by Giorgio Armani 02/05/2026
I've been learning to appreciate this line lately, aquatics were never my vibe, but lately maybe it's the recent heat, but ADG is growing on me. Picked up this whopper 200ML bottle for a bargin. As an edt, I reckoned I could spray away with this one. This classic, is the granddad of the aromatic aquatic genre. Launched in 1996, it was created by the legendary master perfumer Alberto Morillas, said to have been inspired by the the rugged, sun-drenched landscape of the Mediterranean island of Pantelleria. This og composition is a masterclass in balance, opening with a vibrant, zesty splash of Calabrian bergamot, neroli & green tangerine, which give a sense of citrusy energy. As the initial brightness settles, the heart reveals its signature marine accord, masterfully blended with floral notes like jasmine & freesia, alongside spicy hints of rosemary & nutmeg. This salty sea water effect is the fragrance’s core identity. Finally, the scent dries down into a subtle, masculine base of cedarwood, patchouli, white musk, & oakmoss, which grounds the airy aquatic notes with a warm, earthy finish. In terms of performance, Acqua di Giò has moderate projection with a polite sillage, making it a safe choice for close-quarter environments. You can expect 3 to 4hrs on the skin, requiring a midday refresh if you intend for it to carry through an entire evening. With its light, refreshing nature, it is best suited for the spring & summer months, as heat helps the citrus and marine notes project more effectively. It is the ultimate daytime fragrance, perfect for casual weekend outings, office settings, or beach vacations where a clean aura is desired. My Rating 7/10 Scent 2.5 Longevity 2 Sillage 1.5 Y/N 1

SOTD: Amouage Jubilation XXV
Wore this today and man this is what I call regal energy in a bottle. Jubilation XXV doesn’t try to shout, it commands attention quietly, like someone who already knows their worth. Opening hits you with that rich blackberry and a slightly resinous, almost incense-like warmth. It’s fruity, but not playful more like a deep, mature sweetness layered with complexity. As it settles, the magic really starts to unfold honey, spices, and that signature opoponax note giving it that balsamic, almost mystical depth. Mid to drydown is where it shines for me: smooth woods, a touch of oud (very refined, not animalic), and this warm, slightly smoky aura that just lingers. It feels luxurious without being overwhelming like a tailored suit rather than flashy designer drip. Performance? Solid. I got a good 8+ hours with a soft but noticeable projection definitely more of a personal aura than a room-filler. This isn’t for grabbing loud attention, it’s for the ones who appreciate presence and depth. Perfect for cooler weather, evening settings, or when you want to feel put together and intentional. Not a blind reach for everyone, but if your taste leans mature, resinous, and slightly opulent, this is a gem. Final thoughts: Jubilation XXV is storytelling through scent-refined, complex, and unapologetically grown. Anyone else rocking Amouage today?
