Good morning, fragrance family ☀️ Chicago is heading into a deep freeze for a while, but I’m grateful and blessed that I’m not due in the office just yet. That extra time, especially on cold mornings like this, creates space for reflection. Today I find myself reminiscing about my early life and spiritual journey. Being born Muslim, later walking alongside my father as he became a Christian pastor, and eventually finding my own spiritual awakening through studying and practicing different faiths along the way. Each step shaped me, grounded me, and taught me reverence, discipline, and community. My scent of the day perfectly mirrors that reflection: Salamah by Amouage, an attar that instantly transports me back to memories of the brothers preparing for Jumah. The warm haze of bakhoor drifting through the masjid, the quiet hum of anticipation, and the mingling of fragrances as we greeted one another with peace and respect. This fragrance is very present yet never loud or offensive. The oud is smooth, smoky, slightly sweet, and floral, with just a touch of animalic depth that feels deeply human and soulful. It wears close but with authority, much like those moments of shared prayer and brotherhood. An unequivocal 10/10 for me today. Wishing everyone warmth, peace, and a beautifully scented start to the day 🙏🏾
