This 2023 Parfum is the latest premium rework of the 1996 legend, once again crafted by Alberto Morillas. Classed as a Woody Aquatic, it sits neatly between the bright citrus of the original and the colder, metallic edge of Profondo. The vibe is sun‑warmed Mediterranean stone and salt air — fresher than Profondo, but deeper, resinous and more grown‑up than the original EDT . It opens with Bergamot & Marine notes for a crisp, zesty citrus meets a clean, salty‑mineral marine sparkle; no heavy synthetics, just bright, immediate freshness. At its Heart, Rosemary, Clary Sage, & Geranium. Its aromatic, herbal greenness with a soft, subtle floral lift; refined, never sharp, and keeps the scent clean but structured. It finishes off beautifully with Olibanum & Patchouli, smoky, resinous incense adds warmth and mystery, while earthy patchouli anchors it. No extra amber/musk here — just a smooth, lasting, slightly smoky drydown. Performance: 7–8 hours on skin, moderate projection, a gentle scent bubble for the first 2 hours, then a soft, noticeable trail. Office‑friendly, never overpowering. Best in spring/summer, where bergamot and marine shine; the incense/patchouli also works for cool evenings. Versatile daily wear, familiar but with enough depth to stand alone. Doing a side-by-side today with Versace Eros EDT and Eros Parfum, and it’s interesting how close they are while still giving off different vibes. The EDT (released in 2012, created by Aurélien Guichard) is the louder, brighter, more playful version. You get that big hit of mint, green apple, and lemon right away, with tonka and vanilla underneath. It’s sweeter, sharper, and definitely feels younger and more energetic. The Parfum (released in 2021) takes that same DNA and smooths everything out. The apple is toned down, the woods feel richer, and the vanilla is less sugary. It comes across more polished and more mature—less “nightclub” and more “evening out.” Side by side, I’d say the EDT is more fun and attention-grabbing, while the Parfum feels more refined and easier to wear in a wider range of settings. Same family, different ages of the same personality. Given my age, I'll choose the Parfum when my bottle of EDT is finished.
