SOTD: Le Beau Paradise Garden by Jean Paul Gaultier 25/04/2026
This was my favourite summer scent from last year, a 2024 release to the JPG Le Beau line from master perfumer Quentin Bisch. He was also behind the original Le Beau & Le Male Le Parfum. It is said to have been designed to capture the essence of a lush, tropical garden, leaning heavily into green, aquatic & creamy accords. It's Aquatic, Green, Woody & works extremely well in the heat. The opening is refreshing & green. From the first spray, it hits with a blast of cooling mint & spicy ginger. Unlike its predecessor Le Beau Le Parfum, which is much darker, denser, this version feels wet & ozonic. The green notee provide a freshness that immediately separates it from the typical blue or citrus summer scents. At the heart, the signature of coconut & fig emerges. The coconut is more water than cream. And the green fig adds a milky, slightly tart fruitiness. A hint of salt adds askin-scent quality, mimicking the smell of seawater on warm skin. The base is where the Gaultier DNA truly shines. The tonka bean adds a familiar sweetness, but it is kept in check by the sandalwood, which adds that smooth, woody foundation. It doesn't become overly cloying, maintaining its airy, tropical character throughout the wear. Performance here is great also, lasts quite well on skin for what I would consider a softer fragrance, I get a good 7hrs. It projects well in the heat without being offensive. It is a perfect vacation scent or casual daytime fragrance, though its sweet base makes it suitable for summer evenings as well.If you found the original Le Beau too sweet or Le Parfum too heavy, Paradise Garden is the perfect middle ground. It offers a more sophisticated, natural, green take on the tropical theme My Rating 8.5/10 Scent 2.5 Longevity 2.5 Sillage 2.5 Y/N 1
