It seems that several of us here are having their share of challenges at the end of the year. After a long day, I thought I'd treat myself to some Opus XIV, a Romeo y Julieta 1875 and some single malt. It's been a while since I just sat in the backyard with a nice cigar and enjoyed the sunset. Royal Tobacco took me a few times before I got it. The licorice notes are front and center at the beginning and the tobacco in the base is more of a slightly sweet and floral rather than a smoky vibe that I was hoping for when I first picked up this bottle. However, after my third or fourth wearing, I finally got the vibe I was looking. Yes, the licorice and fenugreek are present pretty much throughout the wearing, but I really enjoy it now. The dry-down is worth the wait and lasts for hours. Combine the Amouage, a fine cigar and some Lagavulin 16 (@Aditya Choksi) and all is right again.

I guess tonight’s the night for cigars and Scotch! 15 year old Cuban Padron and Lagavulin 16. Oh and the scent is Creed Oud Zarian. Have a great night brothers!
