Yes, it does, but not in ways that you may think. If you were to tell me that a fragrance only lasts about two to three hours and projects maybe a foot for about the first hour. This is very useful information, as it may be the perfect gym scent. I just got home, I have to run some errands, and I know that I will be switching up my fragrance to go out to dinner. I feel that all. SOTD and Reviews should include performance, as it is one of the most useful tools we have. Longer-lasting fragrances are great for those situations where you are out all day and have no time to reapply. Shorter-lasting fragrances are great for the gym or freshening up for running errands, and knowing you will be going to another engagement after, and will require a more appropriate fragrance for the activity or event. Either way, long-lasting or short-lasting fragrances have their place within the perfume world. And I am 99% sure that when the creator creates the fragrance, they have a pure intention of what they are creating. Sometimes fragrances are created based on trends in the market, meaning more people want longevity. Other times, fragrances are created because people want shorter times. And I would venture to guess that most of the time, most perfumers would create something loud, something soft, something long-lasting, or something short-lasting. There are those in the community who would love a fragrance that lasts only 4 hours. Especially if you have a large collection and intend to wear more than one fragrance a day. Others who are students or who work outside or are going out for the evening would probably prefer a longer-lasting fragrance, as they may not have time to readjust and reapply. I would say that it is personal as to longevity, but it does play a role in helping out the brotherhood. I may make a decision based off of what performance you tell me the fragrance adds, either way it helps with informed decisions. Another reason that performance listing is very helpful to the Brotherhood. If you tell me that a fragrance lasts on you for 12+ hours, and I only get 3 hours out of it, maybe there is a hygiene issue that I need to investigate. Maybe I'm not drinking enough water. Maybe I'm not moisturizing enough. These are all things that could be rectified if I had a general idea that the fragrance performs very well on most people, and vice versa.
