SOTD: Paradigme by Prada 09/12/2025
Remember a bit of hype surrounding this one when it came out earlier this year. To be honest it never really garnered much attention from me. Created by Marie Salamagne, Bruno Jovanovic and Nicolas Bonneville, it's a woody amber number, although nice, it does nothing to wow me or justify the price tag. Even now, it still sells for ā¬135 for a 100ml. The opening is a unique clash of deep, warm ambery woods and a powerful clean, citrusy freshness. It's somewhat familiar, like I have something in my collection that has a similar profile. They seem to be pushing the, everything back to front vibe with a quote, inverted olfactive architecture, meaning the heavy, warm base notes are designed to be immediately present, tracing a path from depth to light. Base notes include Ambery Woods Accord, Peru Balsam, Benzoin Resin & Guaiac Wood. What you get is depth with a resinous, balsamic warmt. At its heart, Bourbon Geranium & Floral Rosy Facets which lead to a clean, bright, and slightly aromatic green floral core. The top notes are Calabrian Bergamot and airy musks.sharp and clean, with a fusing burst of citrus freshness. I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm getting YSL Myslf or Polo 67 vibes here? Performance is not so bad, I'm getting 5hrs before it starts drifting away and it projects strongly forthe first hour, creating a noticeablescent bubble. Yes it's good, but it ain't nothing new, a lot of unwarranted hype IMO, wrapped in a fancy nonsensical story. A hard pass for me I'm afraid. There is a lot better out there.
