SOTD: Boss Bottled Infinite by Boss 5/03/2026
I think it will be hard to find someone whom dislikes this flanker. Annick Ménardo the perfumer behind the og Boss Bottled makes a return for the 2019 release of Infinite. It comes across as a bridge between the office ready DNA of the original Boss Bottled and a more relaxed, outdoor-inspired vibe. If your looking for a Blue fragrance without that generic shower gel vibe, this might just be what your looking for. It moves away from that heavy apple pie sweetness of the original to an upgraded cleaner, more herbal freshness. It opens up with notes Of Apple, Mandarin, Cinnamon & Sage. The undisputed DNA of the bottled line is that familiar Apple. Here It’s crisp and fruity but less syrupy than the original. The Mandarin adds a bright, citrusy zing that makes the opening feel energetic. Whilst Cinnamon provides a light, spicy warmth that prevents the fruit from being too cold. Sage, is the gamechanger. It adds a herbal, slightly medicinal freshness that signals this is a more mature scent. At its core, Lavender is the star of the mid-section. It gives the fragrance a clean laundry barbershop vibe. Rosemary enhances the herbal quality of the sage, making the scent feel very outdoor friendly and grounded. And the Patchouli gives an earthy, dark undertone that bridges the gap between the fresh top & the woody base. Moving to the drydown, the Sandalwood is smooth, creamy & masculine. It creates a soft skin-scent finish. Then you get the Olive Tree wood, it's a unique, slightly salty, dry woodiness that sets this fragrance apart from the typical cedar/ambroxan heavy-hitters. Performance here ain't as good as you would expect from an edp. Infinite is more polite than beast mode. I manage just under 4hrs on skin. You get an ok projection of just over an hour before it draws back into a skin scent. It’s the kind of fragrance people will smell when they lean in to talk to you, rather than when you walk into the room. Will work at the office, gym, or for casual weekend errands. Definitely not an Infinite scent, but it is clean, fresh & masculine.

Unintended Consequences... (re-up'd)
Hey guys, Joe A. here with another one for ya'! When I first dipped my toe into this hobby, I thought the deal was simple: buy a bottle, spray the bottle, smell the juice. End of story. Easy enough, right? Well… turns out collecting fragrances has a few side quests nobody tells you about! For starters, shelf space disappears faster than a free decant at a frag meet-up. One bottle becomes five, five becomes twenty, and suddenly you're rearranging furniture like an HGTV host just to give your collection proper real estate. Then come the accessories: tester strips by the hundreds, decant atomizers, label makers, storage trays, display stands, travel sprayers… next thing you know you’re buying organizers for the organizers. I swear half the hobby is logistics!!! And don’t even get me started on the “supporting research materials.” Sample packs, discovery sets, decant racks, fragrance journals, maybe even a dedicated cabinet with lighting so your bottles look like they’re on display at the Louvre. Before long you’re explaining to your spouse why the mailman knows you by name and why small glass vials keep showing up at the house every week. Ha, but here’s the funny thing… those unintended consequences kinda become part of the fun. The hobby grows, your setup evolves, and suddenly you’ve built your own little scent laboratory at home. What say you, guys? What unintended expenses has this hobby snuck into your life? Did you end up buying storage, decant gear, display cabinets, or something completely unexpected? And what’s the one accessory you now consider essential to the hobby? Or is ol' Joe A. a pack rat in need of professional help or intervention? Love to hear from ya’!
