Little known Fragrance houses and Fragrances! Anomalous Parfums (Devils Deceit)
Anomalous Parfums is a smaller independent niche house that leans heavily into dark, atmospheric, artistic perfumery instead of mass-appeal designer-style scents. The brand has a very underground/artisan feel to it — more focused on storytelling, mood, and unusual compositions than just making “easy compliments.” A lot of their fragrances come across experimental, gothic, mysterious, and emotional rather than clean or crowd-pleasing. If you like houses that feel more handcrafted and creative instead of commercial, this is the type of brand that stands out. One thing I respect about the house is they don’t seem afraid to make fragrances with personality. Some indie brands play it too safe, but Anomalous goes for darker textures, resinous notes, smoky accords, fruits with shadowy undertones, incense, woods, and sometimes almost cinematic atmospheres. Definitely more for fragrance enthusiasts than casual shoppers. As for Devil’s Deceit, this one smells seductive, dark, smooth, and slightly dangerous without going fully animalic or overly harsh. It has that “temptation” style DNA where sweetness, woods, spice, and darker resinous notes all blend together in a way that feels mysterious instead of loud. The opening has a rich sweetness to it, but it’s not candy-like. It feels deeper and more mature — almost like dark fruits mixed with warm spices and resins. As it settles, the fragrance starts developing this smoky, seductive character with woods and darker nuances that give it depth. There’s a slightly sinful vibe to it, but still wearable. What I like most is that it doesn’t smell overly designer-inspired or generic. It smells niche and artistic, but still wearable enough to actually use. It gives off late-night energy — dinners, lounges, cooler evenings, dressed-up situations, or when you want something with presence and mood. Performance is strong too. On my skin, I’d expect around 8–12 hours with solid projection for the first few hours before it settles closer. The scent trail is noticeable without becoming completely overpowering. Definitely more of a statement fragrance than an office-safe daily scent.
