WINNER for "The Scent That Started Your Journey" Challenge 🥁🥁
Gents — this challenge was a blast! These stories have been pure gold. Funny, real, nostalgic, and honestly the kind of posts that make this community what it is. Now… for the winner 🥁🥁🥁 🏆 WINNER: @Lon Chaneyfield Lon took us straight back to 1981 — college in upstate New York, right after the disco/rock era — when he wasn’t exactly Mr. Smooth with the ladies. Then there was his buddy David: not the best-looking guy on campus, but somehow he had this magnetism Lon couldn’t explain. At first, Lon thought it was style — so he upgraded the wardrobe (serious Ferris Bueller vibes 😂). But the “it factor” still wasn’t there. Then came the moment that changed everything: On the way to a keg party, David insisted on running back to the dorm for one thing — a little white bottle. Not a clone. Not a random splash. YSL Kouros. Lon could immediately sense the power of it — bold, animalistic, unforgettable — and then watched David’s magnetism in real time at the party. The next morning, Lon made his move: with his brand-new first credit card, he hopped a bus to JCPenney and bought his first cologne for himself. And from there? The rest is basically 80s history. Lon says Kouros became tied to so many peak memories that even today, he doesn’t really wear it out… but at home? One spray and it’s instant time travel. That’s the power of scent right there. @Lon Chaneyfield — love this story! Everyone else: keep those stories coming in the feed! These are the kind of stories that make this community what it is.

#CommitmentInAction
1. I kept two jobs to work my way through college. Because I refused to quit. 2. I walked seven miles to work during financial hardship post divorce. Because I refused to quit 3. Of four jobs I had during that hardship, I worked at our local hospital, County E911, City Police Dept, and County Environmental Department. Because I refuse to quit. 4. I now serve as the president of that City’s Council. I sit on the Board of Directors for that hospital and the E911 Center. I am also now the contracted County Director over Emergency and Environmental Management, as well as Homeland Security. I also serve on the Board of Directors for Energy Southeast which services municipalities Statewide and prepaid Electric services in over a dozen states. Because I refuse to quit. 5. I once walked Because I couldn't afford gas. I slept in the cold because I couldn't afford heat. I missed meals because I couldn't afford to eat. I was looked down upon by those I worked under, just because I was so poor. But I refused to quit. 6. In the end, they couldn't hold me down and now some of those same people work under me.. BECAUSE I REFUSE TO QUIT. 7. The best part is that I now can be kind to and help those that are less fortunate because of the positions that I earned through commitment. Those in the lower positions know that I am in their corner, and I get to watch as I help open doors for them to have an easier time than I did trying to climb the mountain. I will choose a person that has held integrity through hardship over someone with a masters degree in a moment. I still get out and labor with the laborers, and I will scrub a toilet in my agency unless the janitor pulls rank on me. No one works for me; they simply work with me. I was able to create this work environment simply because.....I REFUSED TO QUIT.
