I took the advice of many of my fellow agents on here. I bought a bunch of decants from Scebt Split to immerse myself in the many scents and levels of quality. I used to think that the middle eastern clones could compete with the big quality houses. I am finding out that some may get the idea but for there price points it’s pretty hard to compete. My first real experience was when I first put on PDM Layton. That scent and quality on my skin was an eye opener. Now I put on Side Effect this morning. Even though the scent didn’t quite hit home with me like Layton. The quality oils and fragrance was undoubtedly there. The warm spicy notes of cinnamon rum was jumping of my skin. It reminded me of the Life Saver flavor Butter Rum that my grandmother used to eat. It was invigorating as the sillage just blasted away. Wants the woody notes hit this scent just goes for a ride with you the rest of the day. The one setback was the at first I got a hint of like burnt rubber. I thought it was just me but then I read a few reviews who mentioned the same type of scent. This one is above average in every department. It’s a solid frag. 8/10.

Some fragrances make an immediate impression that doesn’t really change.Terre d'Hermès was one of those for me. The first time I smelled it was in a gift shop on the way to Mahogany Bay in the Caribbean. One spray was all it took. What stood out then is still what stands out now: bright citrus, earthy mineral tones, and dry woods coming together in a way that feels refined, natural, and very controlled. In heat and humidity it behaves exactly how it seems to have been designed, transparent, close to the skin, and best when reapplied rather than expected to project for hours. It’s not a “beast” fragrance, and it was never meant to be. To me, that’s part of what makes it work. The perfumer designed it to stay elegant and airy rather than dominate a room. That’s exactly how it responds. It’s one of the fragrances I confidently call a masterpiece.
