Today I'm wearing Parfums de Marly Sedley, and after spending time with Percival and Greenley recently, it's interesting to see where this one fits in the lineup. Released in 2019 and created by Olivier Cresp and Hamid Merati-Kashani, Sedley opens with bergamot, lemon, grapefruit, mint, and mandarin before moving into lavender, rosemary, geranium, and olibanum over a base of ambroxan, cedarwood, sandalwood, and vetiver. My impression is that Sedley is the freshest and most sparkling of the three. Where Greenley leans crisp and green, and Percival goes for clean, musky versatility, Sedley feels bright, airy, and almost fizzy thanks to the citrus-and-mint opening. It has a cooling quality that makes it incredibly refreshing on a warm day. This strikes me as an ideal late spring and summer fragrance—perfect for casual weekends, outdoor activities, vacations, or just beating the heat while still smelling polished. It's not trying to be dark, mysterious, or overly complex. It's simply fresh, clean, and extremely easy to enjoy, which is sometimes exactly what you want.
