SOTD: Spicebomb edt by Viktor & Rolf 27/01/2026
Ever since it's release in 2012, this has been a titan of the fragrance world. This was probably the bottle that cemented my interest in the fragrance collection world. Created by master perfumer Olivier Polge, it was designed to be the masculine equivalent of the ultra-popular Flowerbomb. It still brings a smile to my face when I think of how my youngest threw the bottle at me due to its grenade like shape. Spicebomb is famously built on a "chilly vs. fiery" contrast. It doesn't just smell like a spice rack; it has a sophisticated duality that keeps it from being too heavy. With tope notes of Bergamot, Grapefruit, Pink Pepper & Elemi, it opens up with a bright, fizzy citrus burst immediately followed by a sharp, peppery sting. For me that pink pepper is the star of the show. At its Heart Cinnamon, Saffron & Paprika The fiery side. It becomes warm & slightly sweet, there is a bit of a Christmassy vibe in there. At its base you get Tobacco, Leather & Vetiver for a smooth, masculine drydown. The tobacco here is more like a sweet, unlit cigar leaf. With reformulations over time, this one may be considered moderately strong rather than explosive but it's still held in high regard on my shelf. You can easily expect 6–8 hours on the skin. With a solid projection for the first two hrs after which it settles into a noticable scent bubble when people are close by.It also leaves a rather nice scent trail that lingers after you leave a room. More suited to the colder months, I have on occasion tempted fait in warmer climate, even ran a couple of sprays in the gym once. I'm not making any promises, but if swear it added 20kgs to me max bench This is confident, cozy, and slightly rugged. It's also one of very fews one of very fewfragrances that just make me happy. It aint in my top ten list, mainly because the big brother is no 1, but ai still got huge love for this one. Id gove ot a 12 out of 10 score if I could. My Rating 10/10 Scent 3 Longevity 3 Sillage 3
