SOTD: Eau d’OmbrĆ© by Tom FordĀ 20/06/2026
Eau d’OmbrĆ© is the newest addition to the OmbrĆ© Leather line, launched in 2024 under the work of perfumer Sonia Constant, who continued her development of the collection after earlier entries. It’s a bit of an odd release order: the original EDP and stronger Parfum versions came first, with this EDT arriving later. If you imagine the original OmbrĆ© Leather crossed with something like Spicebomb and softened by a warm amber backbone, you’ll get a good sense of where this sits. While the original is famous for that bold ā€œnew leather jacket meets fresh interiorā€ vibe, Eau d’OmbrĆ© shifts direction—trading much of the raw, gritty intensity for a warmer, spicier, and clearly vanilla-focused profile. It moves away from the animalic and jasmine-laced leather of its predecessors, instead offering what the brand calls ā€œRadiant Leather.ā€ The opening hits brighter and fizzier than anything else in the line. You get a sharp, energizing burst of fresh ginger, coriander, and cardamom; for the first few minutes it feels airy and just a touch medicinal. As it settles into the heart, the spices calm down and the signature leather accord finally appears—but here it feels glowing rather than heavy. Gone is that smoky, almost gasoline-like edge of the EDP, making this version far smoother, with a subtle thread of saffron adding depth. Where it really stands apart is the base: this is where Eau d’OmbrĆ© shines. It unfolds into a rich vanilla tincture supported by ambrofix, turning into a creamy, gently sweet, lightly woody skin scent. Amber and honeyed woods wrap it all up, giving it a cozy feel rather than anything loud or aggressive. Being labeled an EDT, you’d expect lighter performance—but it actually holds its own surprisingly well, especially in cooler weather. It lasts a solid 6–8 hours on skin, though it softens into a close skin scent faster than the original EDP. Projection stays moderate: it creates a pleasant, noticeable ā€œscent bubbleā€ around you for the first two hours, but never shouts or fills a whole room. That makes it ideal for offices, everyday wear, or dates where you don’t want to overwhelm anyone. If you like leather fragrances but find the original too harsh or intense, this is a perfect entry point—and it’s also the most affordable option in the entire OmbrĆ© Leather lineup.

SOTD: Eau d’OmbrĆ© by Tom FordĀ 20/06/2026
Let’s Talk Velixir…
So as you know social media tends to hype up the newest dupe fragrances out there, saying it’s the closest ā€œ1:1 i’ve ever smelledā€ and whatnot, and this month’s edition is the indonesian house: Velixir. Now i can’t deny presentation looks spectacular. Attractive designs and packaging, but as we all know the most important is the juice. So asking all of you, if any of you have had the opportunity to try these, what do you think? Is it truly as good as they say it is? Or just another marketing gag and a sham?

Review: Boss Bottled Pacific
Good day gents! I know, I know.... this is like the 10th time I pretend to suggest I'll catch up with reviewing tested fragrances... šŸ˜… It's been a very difficult last couple of months for me. But I'm thinking that's exactly why I should come back to these write-ups. Take my mind off everything, for at least a few minutes. I'll give it a try. Even though discontinued and very difficult to find, I decided to order a decant of this one, as I'm a huge fan of the Bottled line. Was to try it, knowing that if I'd like it, I'd never find or pay the asking prices for a bottle of this. This is an extremely coconut-forward fragrance, more than I expected. However, it's a very welcoming coconut note. Many coconut fragrances come up way to sunscreeny for me, which I don't appreciate. That was my main issue with French Riviera OG. This one however, is a smooth, creamy and fresh coconut, that does smell like the real thing, not that suncreen vibe. It opens directly with that coconut accord, by far the most prominent note. The citrus on it acts as a support actor really, not very prominent. I wish it was stronger to better accompany the coconut, but alas. To my nose, it's a rather linear fragrance, the coconut welcoming the rest of the notes throughout the dry down as supporting notes only. Eventually it does feel greener and saltier, but never in a way that suggests an evolution of the scent throughout dry-down. The sole exception is the woody notes (sandalwood in this case) after about an hour. The fragrance does feel considerably woodier, but the creaminess of the sandalwood seems to just merge with the creaminess of the coconut Performance of the fragrance is average. I do get some decent longevity for a 1. summer freshie and 2. Bottled. About 5 hours is fair, with it projecting and having an average sillage for about 1-1.5 hours, before it starts getting closer to the skin. Funnily enough, I ended up getting a bottle out of sheer destiny. Browsing at my local retailer, they had just received a random, forgotten bottle on their last shipment, and they had it stacked shyily along with the Bottled Infinites. Have bought something so quick out of sheer impulse very few times!
