The Booze Wars - FINAL FOUR
Hey guys, Joe A. here with another one for ya'! So... The #Brotherhood has spoken!!!!! After heavy voting, debating, second-guessing and defending favorites like your life depended on it (LoL), we’ve officially arrived at the Final Four of The Booze Wars! These fragrances didn’t just survive their brackets, they earned their way here by representing four very different philosophies of what "boozy" really means in a fragrance. THE BOOZE WARS - FINAL FOUR THE DRINKER Xerjoff - Tony Iommi Monkey Special — It's indulgence with swagger, where rum, leather and attitude collide. It’s the wildcard that proved you don’t need to play it safe to make it far. THE MIXOLOGIST M. Micallef - Gntonic — It's crisp, clean and precise, proving that cocktail realism still hits when it’s done right. It’s the reminder that accuracy and artistry aren’t mutually exclusive. THE BARREL By Kilian's - Angels’ Share — It's immediate gratification, cask-aged sweetness and undeniable crowd appeal. It’s the crowd-pleaser that makes you smile before you even think about it. THE BARFLY Maison Martin Margiela - Jazz Club — It's atmosphere over notes, memory over realism and the unmistakable soul of the bar! It’s the nostalgia pick that lives in the space between imagination and reality. What I love most about this Final Four is that none of these fragrances are here by accident. Each one represents a different way we connect with scent through pleasure, precision, impact or environment. That diversity is exactly why these wars exist in the first place!! Huge congratulations to the finalists and a sincere thank-you to everyone who voted, commented, debated and kept things respectful while still keeping it real. This doesn’t work without the #Brotherhood and the energy you guys brought to this war has been next level!!

Passionate Chypre by Hugo Boss
Gentlemen, let’s talk about number four from The Collection haul: Passionate Chypre. Don’t let the name "Chypre" fool you into thinking this is some old-school, mossy fragrance from the 80s. It’s actually Boss’s sophisticated take on that famous Baccarat Rouge 540 DNA. If you’ve ever smelled that "burnt sugar" and airy sweetness, you’ll recognize it here immediately—but there’s a catch. What makes this one different is the dark Black Cherry note. It’s not a "syrupy" cherry; it’s tart and velvety. While it has that shimmering, crystal sweetness that everyone is chasing right now, the "Chypre" elements—specifically the oakmoss and woods—bring the whole thing back down to earth. It takes that airy vibe and gives it a backbone. The mossy finish pulls it away from being "just another sweet scent" and brings it back to being a proper gentleman’s fragrance. It’s essentially a "sweet" scent for guys who still want to smell like a man. Performance & Occasion • Longevity: This is a serious performer—expect 8+ hours on skin. • Projection: It’s very "airy." It doesn’t feel heavy or thick, but it leaves a massive trail (sillage) behind you. People will definitely smell you as you walk by. This is easily the most "modern" bottle in the line and a massive compliment-getter. It’s a date night powerhouse. If you’re heading out to a lounge or a nice dinner and want something that stands out and smells "expensive," this is the play. For the $75–$100 price, you’re getting a niche-level profile for a fraction of the cost.

Black Meisterstuck by Montblanc
Greetings from the Switzerland! While here I decided to try out my sample of Black Meisterstuck by Montblanc, and being that Montblanc is a mountain in the Alps, the timing was perfect. Upon the initial spray, I encountered a robust and deep incense note that immediately draws you in. There's a subtle background of earthy vetiver, but the star of the show is undoubtedly the incense. Imagine the warm, mildly sweet aroma often found in an old church—it's both nostalgic and comforting. Within about five minutes, the fragrance develops beautifully with the addition of a lovely amber note, creating a velvety richness that lasts throughout the wearing. Don't expect much change as the scent evolves; it maintains its signature character from start to finish. In terms of performance, Black Meisterstuck impresses with its longevity. The projection is strong for the first three hours, after which the scent becomes a bit closer to the skin but remains present well over the 7th hour. This fragrance is ideal for anyone who appreciates incense, particularly enjoyed on colder days. If you can find it at a reasonable price, I highly recommend adding this gem to your collection. It’s a sophisticated choice that certainly makes a statement. Overall, Black Meisterstuck is definitely worth picking up. This is an excellent incense fragrance for anyone who enjoys incense. This is one you need to save for a cold day. But all in all, if you find this one for a reasonable price, it's worth the pickup.
