SOTD: Xerjoff Erba Gold
Heating up here in Denver so I opted for the fruity blast I get from the opening of Erba Gold. I love the citrus burst I get with opening with just a hint of ginger to spice it up. So, Iโ€™m curious, for those who have tried both Erba Pura and Erba Gold, which do you prefer?

D is for Dior Ambre Nuit - REVIEW
This was another sample from the brotherhood. Thank you @Nestor Lopez for the generous decant. I really enjoyed wearing it. I was able to get 5 days out of it before the sample ran out, and I am very grateful for the opportunity and the experience. Ambre Nuit is part of Dior's prestige La Collection Privรฉe line. The collection is meant to sit apart from their mainstream offerings and represent a more rarified, artisanal.side for their house. The perfumer is Franรงois Demachy, who came from Chanel to Dior in 2006 and was Dior's in-house perfumer until his retirement in 2021. He is regarded as one of the top perfumers in his field, and was known for his use of natural materials and notes inspired by his home in Grasse. Ambre Nuit was released in 2009, and is widely considered one of the crown jewels of the collection and a high watermark of his career. Notes: Top - Bergamot, Grapefruit Middle - Damask Rose, Pink Pepper Base - Ambergris, Guaiac Wood, Cedar, Patchouli Scent: 9.0 Ambre Nuit is warm and nocturnal. The citrus in the top is merely a bon mot, and it quickly dries down into the main course. The ambergris anchors everything without dominating. This isn't synthetic ambroxin - it's actual ambergris, which is a rare and expensive ingredient. It creates a musky, salty-sweet, creamy character that is addicting. It's velvety with a subtle sweetness that keeps the whole thing grounded and balanced. The patchouli and woods give it some earthiness that feels rooted and warm. This is effortlessly elegant, It's old money quiet confidence that doesn't need to show off or try too hard. Longevity: 10 This is a cold weather fragrance, or at least better suited to evenings and formal occasions. It is a cold weather fragrance, or at least better suited to evenings and formal occasions. While it stays close to the skin, it isn't a skin scent, and it does project warmly throughout the day and well into the evening. I put it on in the morning and could still pick it up when I went to bed. It's an EDP, so that longevity is impressive, but it also feels right. It goes on, and then, like a perfect house guest, stays only as long as it needs to, and leaves when appropriate, all the while behaving itself and being a good conversationalist.

SOTD: Polo 67 Extreme
SOTD is Polo 67 Extreme. Being a huge Yankees fan, seeing Aaron Judge connected to this one definitely made me want to check it out, but honestly the fragrance itself ended up impressing me. To me, this smells like a more mature, darker, and smoother version of the original Polo 67. You still get that fresh fruity pineapple and citrus opening, but the Extreme brings in more woods, leather, and depth that gives it a more masculine and polished feel. It smells modern and easy to wear without going overboard trying to be โ€œbeast mode.โ€ What I really like is that it works casual but still has enough richness for evenings, date nights, or going out. In Arizona heat Iโ€™d keep the sprays lighter during the day, but at night this one really shines. Performance has been very solid on me too. Iโ€™m getting around 7โ€“9 hours overall with strong projection for the first couple hours before it settles into a smooth scent bubble closer to the skin. It leaves a nice trail without becoming overpowering. Overall, I think Ralph Lauren did a really good job with this release. The Aaron Judge connection caught my attention as a Yankees fan, but the scent itself is what made it worthy of being my SOTD.
