Monthly income is about avoiding volatility
As we resume the monthly passive income strategy in Investing Accelerator, it s important to remember the rules for monthly passive income For the monthly passive income strategy, 1. We focus on taking one trade a week 2. We focus on getting a win rate 90-95% 3. We only allocate the minimum amount needed to achieve our financial goals (the rest is in long term investing) 4. We avoid volatility because we want certainty 5. We stick with blue chip stocks to keep our probability high 6. We avoid earnings 7. We diversify across time and tickers Cheers, Eric ---- Eric Seto Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) Founder of 5MinInvesting.com In August, my goal is to help 10 people without a financial background to master investing through Investing Accelerator. I agree. I made the earnings mistake few times. It is a 50-50 chance. It is better to sell prior to earning announcement
Chat GPT-5 is coming soon
GPT-5 is confirmed for release in summer 2025 (July–September), aiming to end confusion over different models by unifying all features into one super-intelligent system—no more model picker. Everyone will get unlimited, free access to GPT-5, with paid tiers (Plus/Pro) offering higher intelligence and more features—democratizing access to powerful AI. Sam Altman (OpenAI CEO) predicts almost no humans will be smarter than GPT-5, highlighting a leap in intelligence, reasoning, and problem-solving beyond GPT-4.

Combining all language models into one LLM will lessen complexity and reduce confusion on what to use.
Rethinking retirement and looking into micro-retirements
As I’ve begun my investment journey, I’ve been reflecting on what retirement truly means to me. Previously, I thought of it as the traditional definition—ending my work life entirely. However, these days, I think “micro-retirements” may actually suit me better. I still want to work, but not as hard, and I want the flexibility to take significant time away from work whenever I choose. In other words, a work-optional lifestyle. Obviously, this all depends on the organization you work for and whether extended time off is even possible. In my husband’s and my case, it thankfully works—and we also have the benefit of working from home, which has made life so much more flexible already. Since this is the Retire and Invest community—what does retirement look like to you? Is it a clear final chapter, or more of an ongoing lifestyle choice?

I am glad it is working for you. Unfortunately, most companies don’t offer pensions anymore. I would love to retire as well, but the cost of living keeps going up. Great topic and thank you for sharing your knowledge and perspective l.
