What worked and what DIDN'T work at AJ&Smart in 2023
Hey Workshoppers! Not sure how many of you here are interested in the "business running" side of the whole facilitation game, but I've been running AJ&Smart for the past 13 years and I occasionally talk about how it's going on my podcast "The Unscheduled CEO". Yeah, another fucking podcast.... It's an unedited, chaotic, messy shit-show of a podcast that I only do as a sort of personal journal (which is why I rarely share it in AJ&Smart's marketing). BUT it could be interesting for you if you're interested in the behind-the-scenes of running a business like AJS. One of the most recent episodes I talk about what went well and what we really fucked up in 2023, might be a good starting point: https://howtobusiness.substack.com/p/what-worked-and-what-didnt-work-in You can get the podcast wherever you listen to podcasts (Spotify, Apple, Google, Overcast, whatever) And please please please don't expect anything polished, this is really a passion project :) Cheers, Jonathan

We are used to unpolished now, in fact look forward to it :) Thanks for sharing.
Resources for Project Management
Hi everyone! 👋 My job involves facilitating Design Thinking trainings with multiple departments. One area we are looking to improve is in project management. We often face challenges scheduling meetings and keeping projects on track. Does anyone know of any resources (online certifications, books, videos, etc) to learn more about project management techniques, or do you have advice on what has worked for you?

Hi Maddy, I work in transformation and strategy execution quite a lot, there is a lot that is under "we face challenges keeping project on track" - it could be a workshop in itself, to find out what are the challenges, which of them are symptoms vs root causes. Perhaps, that could be a workshop you could run within teams? A classic sailboat? It is important to figure that out for your organization, as each org can be slightly different. If you want to give details, happy to give more specific guidance on the topic, or alternatively happy to jump on a call.
The eagle has landed! 🦅✨
After a couple of months of intense study, practice, and Inner Circle Mentorship, I’ve landed my first official Sprint!! I’ll be collaborating during a 9-Week Customer Experience Sprint with key members of an AI startup, providing consulting advice, and helping improve the flow, look & feel, and overall experience for a new digital product. The main goal will be to assist the team in establishing product/market fit and proving traction. Among the many fancy exercises I’m planning for this engagement, we’ll collect User Challenges, perform Task Analysis, and build a User Story Map. I will also help them complete a Lean UX Canvas to establish our testing hypotheses, and document a Product Roadmap to identify and prioritize additional features. The pièce de résistance and main deliverable will be an interactive, high-fidelity prototype we’ll use to get feedback from test customers in several rounds of Usability Testing. I am extremely happy and grateful to the AJ&Smart team, for ensuring I did the deed. Special mention of course to @Jonathan Courtney but also to @Rebecca Courtney, @Tim Höfer, and so many others that pointed the way forward. I also want to give thanks to the many colleagues who helped me to grow, and who took time to practice with me some of these exclusive top 1% skills. Too many to mention, so suffice to say if I forgot you I owe you a tall drink ;) whenever you’re in Florida! Here it goes… Thanx to @Graham Thompson @Julie Taplin @Yash Mehta @Jill Banks @Abdul Salam @Benedict Odjobo @Javier von Westphalen @Ömür Yanıkoğlu @Riya Korah @Tarrush Kapoor @Chrissy Braun @Elli Nikolaou @Celine Tran @Teresa Middleton @Irina Volfson @Michelle Audsley Myers @Kristi Shumway @Keith Wasserman @Sabine Braubach @LaYinka Sanni @Lina Robayo @Luca Terminiello @Alexandra Pinegger @Trevor Wood @Kristen Cattell @Hind Bayane @Laure Duchamp @Bret Koontz @Coco Curry @David Marks @Anat Akiva @Talia Johnson @Chris Davis @Shelley McKeating … You’re All Stars!! 🌟✨

Innovation Workshop for AI implementation
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone here has experience designing workshops or a design sprint for identifying the most practical AI solution for a client. I'm trying to come up with a good structure for an engaging, one-day workshop – where the client would come in as a team and work together to find pain-points, prioritise and come out with a roadmap to help them implement the solution that would be built by an external AI / ML company. The clients are usually not very technical so I'm thinking there would likely need to be some form of inspiration or educational aspect near the start, in order to help guide their ideas in a realistic direction. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated !
