So I won’t be racing again until December. I would have liked to in June but Sydney race is one while I am in Canada watching the World Cup. Brisbane didn’t go as I wanted to but in all honesty went as well as expected. Due to my last 8 weeks of training being inconsistent after starting my football season My question is, this far out what is the best place to start? Do I try to rebuild raw strength, am I better doing longer steady state run and conditioning a couple of times a week? My main issue was pushing too hard first half and not having the capacity to back it up second half

Amazing thanks fellas. Hard one is I know this but it is so easy to second guess yourself so having you guys for some clarity is amazing. Consistency has been hard to come by, trying to rebuild the coaching business too so been prioritising that at times too But my big Saturday sessions have been a write off after the game the night before. Then Sunday was meant to do easy runs but didn’t. Then thought Monday through to Wednesday had to be catch up days so probably too much on those days. Strength work had to be limited to early in the week. But I think prioritising aerobic base with 2-3 proper strength sessions and maybe take out the high impact stuff like metcons for now will allow me to be consistent and also recover. Season started really well really enjoying my football playing well.

Brisbane in April. Very excited
🔒 Something New Is Coming in February!
We’re building something new behind the scenes. Not a workout. Not a one-off challenge. But it will expose something in your racing. 👇Which HYROX station currently feels like your biggest limiter? - SkiErg - Sled Push - Sled Pull - Burpee Broad Jumps - Row - Farmer’s Carry - Lunges - Wall Balls No explanations needed ...just drop the station below. 📌 Pay attention to this space over the next few weeks! February is the beginning of something very deliberate in the Hybrid Racer Skool 💪🏽

📢 NEW PROGRAM: ENGINE PROGRAM IS NOW LIVE!
This has been in the works for a long time. The Engine Program is officially live and it’s built for one simple reason: Most athletes don’t fail because they’re weak ...they fail because their engine can’t support their strength. This program is for you if: • Running falls apart under fatigue • Machines spike your heart rate faster than they should • You train hard, but your conditioning doesn’t translate on race day Inside the Engine Program you’ll find: • Structured running across Zone 2, threshold, and VO₂ • Targeted row + ski erg engine work • One weekly HYROX-style compromised running session • RPE-based pacing so the work actually fits you This isn’t random conditioning...it's not “just do more cardio.” It’s a system to build an engine that supports your racing, not one that breaks it. Let us know what you think of the new program in the comments below!

Is it the same engine work we use in the main program or is it different?

@Rhyss Murty ok great thanks
Different Gears
The use of varied speeds within the programming has been great, it’s helped me understand pacing on a deeper level and given me real insight into my body’s potential. Today’s recovery run before speeding was enjoyable. Is this recommended as an approach for a Hyrox, asking another average pace is where I want it to be ? for example 5:05-5:10 steady 4:25-4:45 fast Not just the running but the machine work has been great too.

So in Saturdays workout we were asked to run 200 steady and push 400m in the run Would it be a recommendation to attempt it in a Hyrox For example steady 400 faster 600 or vice versa?
