Hey Ryan...elite Hyrox athletes are running 80-100km / week! This is what we are trying to educate people on...this is far too much! If you think about Chris, when he was competing in Ironman...he was running 50km per week and his event was 9hrs long! There is no need to be runnning that sort of mileage for a 60-90min (on average) event, such as HYROX. We would suggest that your weekly running volume should be anywhere between 15 - 30km per week. 30km for elite. Because HYROX is a relatively short event...there is no need for massive volume. The magic is in the specificity of your running sessions. You should make sure and cover VO2 max, threshold and your base endurance (zone 2). I hope this helps. Also, Chris was with me yday when we seen this question but I am sure he will input when he sees it too!ha

Hey guys.. it is HYROX LONDON week.. 🙌🏽 And we kicked it off today with a nice Hybrid Racer session down at the Tune Up pop event. Here we took the guys through a Zone 2 practice drill, followed by a breathe work/pacing drill, and then smashed a really cool workout: DOUBLES WORKOUT: A) 10’ AMRAP 40m Sled Push 40 DB Lunges 28m Burpee Broad Jump 20 Cals Machine Straight into: B) Wall Ball Drill 5x 12sec Plate Sprint Thrusters 48sec pvc pipe Slow Thrusters This is a great workout for doubles, and gym owners to use with clients! 👌🏽🔥 Save it for later.
