I wrote a first draf of a book about education ๐Ÿ“–, and you @Zein F ?

@Vito Neshev It's a parable, a novel with science-based facts about education. It was intended as a wake-up call for my university teachers, like when you mix medicine with your dog's food. However, I soon realized that it was naive of me to force them to change. So it ended up being more like a touching story with multiple layers of meaning, much like 'The Little Prince'.
The gap
The other day, I had a chat with @Zein F , and I've been thinking about a question ever since. As individuals, we usually know what's best for us. However, there's often a gap between our knowledge and our actions, for example, when we fail to apply a new concept from a book. Zein and I both want to help people bridge this gap, but we've found that even if we expose them to well-proven techniques, they won't act if they lack a good reason to do so. To address this issue, we brainstormed ideas related to human psychology and addictions. We thought of ways to use mental default systems (such as the reward system, status, fear, shame, and social interaction) for a good purpose. Some of the ideas we came up with include: - Early and easy wins - Rewards - Measurable progress - Accountability - Community - Rankings - Tight feedback loops - Bets I'd love to hear your thoughts on these ideas and any additional ones you have to close the gap between knowledge and action. In your opinion, what is the best strategy to ensure that the ones that you are helping take action?

@Robin Bรคcker Completly true, our brains have a natural bias towards negative emotions. This bias creates an asymmetry in how we process information; we are wired to minimize our losses rather than maximize our wins. Daniel Kahneman fascinating experiments on it. This is because one significant loss can mean the end of our most important mission, which is to pass on our genetic material to the next generation. As a result, our brains prioritize avoiding potential threats or losses over seeking out potential gains. I'll think how to use it in our advantage.

Discipline is freedom
๐˜‹๐˜ช๐˜ด๐˜ค๐˜ช๐˜ฑ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ง๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ is what I heard on podcasts all the time. As undisciplined as I was I would always say: ''But if you're always working, you're not free. You're just working. Now that I did find discipline by taking control over my emotions, I finally understood what this meant. A few examples: - The undisciplined version of myself could only eat what the mood struck. The disciplined version is free from emotional choice and instead chooses what's nutritional, not what is tasty. - The undisciplined version of myself would skip the gym, the disciplined version knows it is important to go to the gym 5 days a week, so I do. - The undisciplined version of myself dressed ''lazy'' the disciplined version is always ready for a proper meetup. - The undisciplined version of myself would only work when I wanted to, the disciplined version works when the calendar says it's time to work.

I agree - when discipline is a choice rather than an imposition, it can be a beautiful way to achieve freedom. It allows us to choose what really matters to us. Can I ask if people have misunderstood your discipline and focus as obsession?
What do you do to maintain energy levels high?
I'm trying to boost my productivity output by as much as possible. Though I notice that whenever I come back from a heavy session at the gym, the rest of the day usually falls apart. This is partially the reason why I gym later at the day. I've heard people take these Athletic green smoothies but I'm skeptical. Right now I'm fasting 18/6, go to the gym 5 days a week & take 5 minute breaks when I need to but I'm still not as energized as I want though my nutritional intake & sleep is pretty great. What do you do?

How many hours do you work per day, @Robin Bรคcker? Personally, I feel my efficiency gets close to zero if I work too much. I have found my sweet spot at around seven hours of quality work per day. When I experience low energy levels, I know that the most productive thing I can do is take a break and rest
