Pulling up to new goals...
For weeks and weeks, I had a chin up/pull up in my workout routine set by @James Pace but something about doing them in the gym, in front of everyone, and expecting myself to look a fool meant I avoided it and kept chickening out. In my most recent check in, James gave me the push I needed to give it a go. Just 3 simple pull ups. And I'm so glad a d thankful he did! My next session, I just sucked it up and did it, not great form, but still, I managed to suprise myself even as to how much I could lift. The first step. A couple weeks later, I've been doing a set of three every session, slowly building that strength, but crucially that confidence to try it too. Today I managed TWO sets of three, I was a shaky mess at the end and my form isn't perfect yet. But it's literally 100% more than I was doing a fornight ago. Small wins physically, big mental gains! Today's attempt video attached below as proof to myself of how far I'm coming!

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone for allowing me a week off to enjoy newborn life 🤍 She’s doing so well and (so far!) sleeping great - long may that continue 😆 Shout outs to these amazing ladies!!! @Rachel Ogier for completing the Tornado Race in Guernsey! A hyrox style partner event which she smashed! @Janice Daly for crushing her first 3 weeks, really finding a routine, completing workouts consistently and already 2.65kg down! @Emily Renouf over 10kg down in 5 and a half months, progress photos looking amazing and had a big mindset shift towards food & social events! Bring on this week! 🥳

I think we need to remind ourselves that we are human beings and not doings - it is impossible to be on our A game all the time. I was starting to see some results with the scales going down but at the weekend it went back up again so it made me lapse on my diet for a couple of days. I'm disappointed but I can't beat myself up. I got some extra steps in and will have a serious chat with myself to keep persisting!

✨️ Drop at least 7kg so my physique is looking similar to Summer 2024 ✨️ Integrate consistent fitness so it's part of my lifestyle and doesn't feel like a chore (usually I'm starting and stopping) ✨️ Get more creative with protein meals so I don't get bored with same foods or fall off track
