Client Value Challenge: Kicking off with the 1st dimension: BEING
Hello community! today is the day we're kicking off the 5-dimension reverse-engineering challenge to help us all get better at communicating the tangible value and worth of the IDGs. One question we always hear is โ€˜โ€™How can I convince my clients to work with the IDGs?โ€™ But the real question to ask is โ€˜How do I create an offering that translates the IDGs into concrete outcomes my clients care about? Over the next few week's weโ€™ll explore together how to embody the IDGs in a way that translates into clear, tangible outcomes your clients recognize and are willing to pay for. Together we learn how to identify and articulate your clientsโ€™ external (what they say they need), internal (what they feel), and philosophical (what they believe) challenges and reverse Engineer IDG skills into Employeeโ€™s Needs, Organizational Pain Points and relative SDG Goals. Please watch the attached video and then pick one of the BEING skills and share your reverse-engineered thoughts in this Google Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zLUjTaSr9l8l1CI_3s7EF1KaHi3OeSLBVlL6JRpbYts/edit?usp=sharing As soon as we have some insights, we'll discuss further in one of the next Hangouts. We look forward to co-create this IDG language with you Sarah & Nadene P.S. please post questions, reflections, things that are not clear in the comments

Summit Integration Community call
Thank you to EVERYONE who took the time to join today. It was heartwarming to be in conversation together. We discussed the 2 new competences of Forgiveness and Resilience, and the Framework being referred to as a Guide. There were SO many valuable insights shared around three topics: What we loved, What we learned and What we want to bring into action. For members who were unable to join, please share your reflections too, we'd love to hear from you!

Thank you too @Nadene Canning . I enjoyed the conversations and reflections.
A few insights from Day 1
There are SO many reasons to LOVE the Summit; meeting all the amazing practitioners, listening to the speakers stories of challenges and transformation, watching and listening to the beauty of the performing artists. I took over 40 photos today of insights and want to share 2 that were very thought provoking from one of the morning speakers; Kasper Benjamin Bjorkskov. He's the founder of No Objectives, a non profit research and design agency "on a mission to turn minority insights into majority actions". I share 2 of the slides he discussed around capitalism and why we the people need to step into our agency to create change, because actions shape our values. ๐Ÿฆ Action is why we created InnerDevelopment@Work! Kirstin Dunlop (CEO of Climate KIC) in conversation with Christiana Figueras (Diplomat and one of the architects of the historic Paris Climate Agreement) spoke of the most difficult decision she took of changing the direction of the company towards holding space for new ways of doing and being to emerge with coalitions and having to sit with the extreme discomfort of the not knowing. Another discussion that I appreciated immensely was between Imam Dr. Muhammad Nurayn Ashafa and Rev. Dr. James Movel Wuye, who went from being mortal enemies to lifelong friends. They shared their story of death and destruction and how they realized that only through forgiveness ( a "new" competency) could they heal themselves and their communities ๐Ÿ‘‰I could easily continue, however prefer to call upon our community members who either watched online, or where present in Stockholm to share what resonated for you. P. S. I was handed a new badge today from the Office of Kindness ๐Ÿค—

I would have been sad if I had not joined online. I listened to Kasper Benjamin Bjรธrkskov, Kristin Dunlop, and Christiana Figueres. It was a deeply sense-making experience, an affirmation that actions shape values, not the other way around, and that leading with identity is crucial. Kasper mentioned that when people have agency, they act. This idea runs deep and highlights the power of inner development as the foundation for outer change. I have attached a screenshot of two of Kasper's slides. For me, developing new perspectives and understanding those of others is essential to holding space and navigating complexity. In the end, Bridging Polarities truly feels worthy of our collective effort. P.S. I am currently on the 17th chapter of The Nordic Secret. The book is amazing and insightful, emphasizing how Bildung (a well-rounded education) empowers a person to face inner complexities with courage.
Connecting the dots - Regeneration and Inner Development
Having worked in wetlands and water resource conservation for 6 years my radar has always been tuned to sustainability and even more so to regeneration. While sustainability focuses on maintaining balance and preventing harm, regeneration goes furtherโ€”restoring, renewing, and enhancing ecosystems, communities, and systems to thrive beyond their original state. Which is why this interactive Regenerative Paradigm Map created by Dr Vanessa Taveras-Dalmau on 14 Sep 2025 retained all my attention. The Regenerative Paradigm Map (see the link below) has 7 core principles, 33 themes, and 253 specific elements detailing regenerationโ€™s โ€˜what, why, and howโ€™. The seven themes are: 1. Start with inner transformation (this occupies 13 of the 33 themes and is by far the most important) 2. Adopt pluralistic, post-capitalistic economic models (5 themes) 3. Practice participatory and ethical governance for regeneration (2 themes) 4. Put community first (2 themes) 5. Work with place as living (2 themes) 6. Use systems approaches (2 themes) 7. Learn from existing regenerative practices or complementary approaches (7 themes) Without wanting to simplify the breath of this research I am truly inspired by the inner development work that we have cut out for us! The 13 themes of Inner transformation include: Elevate your consciousness, integrate diverse knowledge, embrace a new mindset, shift to an ecological worldview, embrace a different discourse, honor negative emotions, channel positive emotions, embrace new leadership, develop new values, acknowledge your inner compass, develop multi literacy, develop soft skills, nourish people and place connectedness. Each one is explained in greater detail in the interactive map and our job is to bring this alive in our work to shift the discourse. It's a lot to digest for sure, but nothing this complex is going to be easy. We in this community are the one's who are helping to create shifts and bring about change.

This really stayed with me during our hangout, and I thought to share it while itโ€™s fresh. My key takeaways on embracing Negative Emotions were: 1. Becoming comfortable with the discomfort of not having all the answers. 2. Taking a pause to question the reason behind my reaction before responding. 3. Resisting the urge to react immediately, so I can draw out the deeper value within negative emotions. If youโ€™re interested, you might want to explore the Regenerative Paradigm Map. Don't get overwhelmed by it. Take it piece by piece.
DIFFERENT WAYS TO CONNECT IDGS AND ORGANIZATIONS
Change-makers hello! I am going to share a document that has some interesting ideas on how to bring the IDG framework to organizations. Personally, however, I assume that some of these skills are always at play when people act for sustainability, and that they interact differently in all of us. My research "pod" is about finding out which are most represented and which dimension has the most represented skills in people who embody sustainability through their lifestyles.

This is beautiful @Maria-Emanuela Galanti The language clarity on 'how to' really resonated with what I need right now. Thanks for putting this together.
