Some emotional support
My dearest WPA friends, I am in need of some moral support as I prepare to go to this Anusara Yoga Conference in San Francisco next week. I have been offered 2 non-prime-time teaching slots at 7:00am. I live in NYC; that means I have to get up at 4:00am Eastern Standard Time to teach a class that is not being livestreamed or featured. They are meditation classes. I have been invited to teach one asana class with 3 other teachers at the end of the conference. This sounds so petty to me, but my ego is taking a bit of a beating here. My background is I was one of the teachers that helped to save Anusara after our teacher, John Friend, left. This is the first conference since 2012 that I have been given non-prime time slots. It is a huge amount of time off and sacrifice for so little exposure. I agreed to these terms, but part of me wishes I had just said no and shown up as a student. Some of the "star teachers" have been given 2 or 3 prime-time classes. How can I frame this as a win and not a demotion in my position in the community? These star teachers will bring people in. I have no following on the West Coast. It makes sense, but I want to go with a full heart and not this feeling of lack. Thanks for any suggestions on how to reframe this. @Cate Stillman @Elizabeth Stauder @Carman Murray @Valerie Hwang Beck @Nina Saacks @Paula Pister

I'd second what @Carman Murray said! It's not so much about how other people decide to position as much as it is about what we do with the position we land in. We may believe that those that get put in the most prominent spots get all of the attention, appreciation, leads, etc... But is that true? When our egos feel bruised it's often times because we fear missing out on the benefit of the default visibility. But when put in a position where we need to get creative with how we connect with others, sometimes it's a golden opportunity to find new ways to engage and connect with people on a more personal level. It's become a fairly regular practice for me to put myself in situations where I'm a "nobody" to see with how quickly I can connect with those in the room. I do it because I used to struggle really badly with self-esteem, and showing myself I can show up somewhere where I'm not known without anxiety reminds me that I don't need my clout to be okay.

Transformational Framework?
I'm curious if anyone here follows a specific framework for the transformational journey in their club. With my background in L & D I think a lot about how people learn, but as a coach I am not more interested in how people transform (as we know, information does not automatically equal transformation). I was introduced to Theory U from the Presencing Institute, but would love to hear from members of this community if they follow a specific approach.

@Carman Murray @Tarna Fuller I think I've missed out on this convo but if you want to see the framework of my core curriculum in more detail I can share that as well.
Not MIA.
I am not actually missing. I am bringing more people into my club from my cleanse. Today's sale happened as I did the follow-up call after the cleanse with a former member of my Vibrant Living Tribe. I gave her the first month of the VLT as a bonus for taking the cleanse. She signed up for the free month. I hope to move her into the year-long program. I offered her 50% discount on the tuition. So we have another temporary member of the tribe. April 28-May 3 I will be in San Francisco at the Anusara Yoga Kula gathering. I am teaching 3 practice sessions during the conference. I am there to refresh my own practice and teaching skills and recharge my batteries. It suddenly feels like sales sessions are not as scary as they used to be. Sending big hugs to all especially to @Valerie Hwang Beck @Nina Pullella for their support in helping me hone my sales skills. I am listening to Cate's club growth call on 4.23.

This is so amazing ❤️❤️❤️ celebrating with you Jackie.
No crops yet... but how's your root system?
Sometimes I feel a bit defeated and often I feel highly frustrated because my business is not where I want it yet. There have been huge gains in my growth and foundation and belief system, and it goes back to gap or gain perspective. That frustration keeps me moving, but reminders like this also help move out of the feelings of defeat that sometimes arise. And then I realize.... I HAVE had LOTS of gains. I just didn't realize how much was required of me to do this when I started out (still would do it anyway). https://youtube.com/shorts/9KPJyj24RME?si=qkGGNzcvplSQkZn3

Sales Mock Sessions Tomorrow
Hello everyone! I'm looking forward to leading tomorrow's sales mock sessions. Last session, @Jacalyn Prete requested that we take some time to share resources and assets that we use in our sales sessions, such as roadmaps, calendars, email templates. If you have anything that has worked well for you in sales sessions, we'd love to learn from you! Please consider bringing in your resources for some show-and-tell. If you're having trouble with sales conversations, struggle with understanding the CLOSER framework or any other framework that we're using in WPA, please bring your questions, gripes and concerns. See you tomorrow!
