Lifting in season vs off season
What are you all’s thoughts on number of lifts per week? I’ve been doing three lifts a week focusing on strength speed/explosiveness throughout the year. But I’m starting to think that maybe I should cut down to 2 a week when I’m racing. Let me know
Finishing the Push durig Max Velocity
Today during my session I realized that I'm punching the ground hard, straight down, but I'm not continuing the push after my initial foot contact with the ground and as a result I'm not getting good extension, and ultimately, not getting a strong cycle. How do I improve this in my next session? Because before I was only thinking "punch hard straight down"
Slow first reps
Hi! When doing flying 20s ( i usually do 5 or 6) the last 2 are always quite a bit faster than the first ones. I also feel faster then. Any tips for the warm up so I can get more speed in the earlier reps?
First Three Steps "Hip Thrust" forward
During the first 3 steps of acceleration, am I supposed to thrust my hips forward upon initial foot contact with the ground, similar to a banded Yuri? Because in the past I've just been focusing on trying to push my legs back and down into the ground and relying on that to get me forward, but by doing so I'm not able to push forward effectively and get that delayed knee extension (or just double extension) that I see out of good starters like Christian Coleman
Question.
Hello! Just had a question! Should I be pushing my knees forward or pushing my knees up when sprinting? I’m not understanding how I am supposed to push my knees forward while staying straight? I am spending a lot of time it the air and I don’t know why. I thought having a high knee drive was good,? but after changing my form I have been spending a lot of time in the air, almost looks like I am jumping. Thank you!
