October last year I went on holiday and always take books, normal chick flicks are the holiday book choice. However, I chose this book…. The book was beyond amazing and thought provoking, however, what followed has forever made me grateful for the book and left wondering if the universe direct me to read it at that time….
4 months after reading that book I was diagnosed with a rare form of c…….. and given weeks to live without immediate surgery. I had the surgery and was told if /when this returns (all cells weren’t removed) I’m ⚰️⚰️ due to its rarity and that there is no other treatment 🤯😳💣
The book remains etched in my mind and the physical and mental scars of the illness are a constant reminder, so collectively, they changed me…
Never assume who will hold your hand, walk beside you, be your cheerleader, dry your tears, in fact, just be there because many will shock you and not for the good….
Don’t wait for the bomb to drop… you are not immortal, live life without regrets 💝
