Pull Quotes
@Julie Broad in one of your YouTube videos you said that pull quotes are falling out of favor. Curious why people don’t like them. I tend to use them and have always liked them, but maybe I am an outlier. Is it pull quotes specifically or sidebars I. General. What I like about them is that when you are faced with a page full of text you can very quickly see some of the key points. I can see them being less valuable for the e-book format but for print I really do like them. I’m looking at interior design options right now and I had pull quotes as one of the design elements I would use. Thanks!

Understanding Your Data
This might not be the most exciting video you ever watch but it could be one of the most valuable. If you only look at sales numbers as an author you're missing a huge part of the picture. Sales are one metric but they aren't even the most important. In this video I walk through five categories of data so you can start to understand your author business and make better decisions.

Website URL question
I created an LLC for my publishing company, and I was going to use that for my author website URL. However, I noticed that most authors use their name for their URL, which evidently is usually available. Are there any advantages to using one URL over another?
Always order the sample book.
Just had my first book printed by Lulu arrive in the mail, very exciting. The cover is using a placeholder image just to see how it printed, report on that, they are amazing. The main points I found: i discounted my blank pages and have to add one blank page to get the chapters starting in the right place. And this one was my main focus for the sample can I read the tables, charts and images. And what I found was 1 out of 4 worked and the rest are like Bible print. The value if the sample is now I know, I have a direct reference of what to fix and exactly where it is, best six bucks of education I have ever paid. The good news is the spine layout worked, even the logo on the spine which I was worried would look like a few white squiggles and unrecognizable.
Layout in MS-Word
Am I crazy? I've always used Vellum for layouts, but I want a design that is more complicated than the software can handle. I'm looking at getting someone to do it professionally, but I prefer to keep control of the text so I can make adjustments in the future without having to go back to the designer. So I am playing around with MS-Word. I took a really fast attempt at it and this is what I got. It would need fine-tuning. But before I spend more time on this, I wanted to make sure I'm not going down a path that I might regret. Thoughts? Thanks!
