Redoing Metadata
Hi all - I need to review and get help with my metadata, mostly finding the right keyword phrases for discoverability. Does Author Launch kit do this for us? I’m just getting into all this with this group. Thanks!! Lauriann

As Gary stated - Julie's done a video about this. One other note I will add is that if you've done podcasts as a guest, and you post the episode to your website - then also link the episode transcript to the posting. AI scrapes the web and finds the text and then uses that if there is ever a question asked that it can use that info to help answer it. Often times it responds to an inquiry with - According to XYZ (persons name or website name, article name, etc.) then it gives the response. BTW ALK has and AI discoverability auditor/analysis might help you. There are many other tools within ALK and Shane is always tweaking, adding, etc. Can't keep Shane down when it comes to ALK. I wish you much success.

@Lauriann Greene usually there is a transcript in the show notes for a podcast. Go to my website kevin-hall.com and check out one of the podcasts I was a guest on and you will see the transcript connected to the podcast.
Getting views on Podcast - a challenge issued
All, I was on Matty Dalrymple's The Indy Author Podcast. Matty is known in the Indy publishing world and had such folks as Jane Friedman, Dale Roberts and Mark Leslie Lefebvre, etc. Dale, Mark and Jane have spoken at Author Nation and will be doing so again this year. After I was on Matty's podcast, Mark Lefebvre was the next guest. Our episodes aired one week apart. I decided to issue a fun challenge to Mark in the form of who could get the most views. Marks and mine views were around 40 at the time. Mark graciously agreed and he set the goal at 100 views. It was back and forth for a week, and I was posting about it every day. Soon Matty stated posting about it, then Dale Roberts joined in by posting on his Discord channel and soon I pulled ahead in views and was able to get to 100 views first. It's been 3 weeks since my episode aired and I now sit at 147 views and growing. BUT - here is my next challenge. During this last challenge, Dale Roberts jokingly said that - yeah, you beat Mark - but you still have a way to go to beat me. Well, at the time he was like 70 views ahead and climbing. Now he sits at 197 to my 147, and I want to catch him - maybe even pull ahead. Again, doing so in a very nice and fun way as Dale is a good sport about these things. I am wondering if you'd be so kind as to listen to the podcast, maybe even share the link around in order to drive views. Bottom line is that regardless of who comes out ahead - Matty's podcast gets further promotion. Thanks everyone and here is the link: Book Marketing on a Budget with Kevin Hall - #345 - YouTube

More on setting up a community
Hi all - I very much agree with Julie that one can’t count on book sales to make a living. I have a lot of notoriety and authority in my field, built up from writing my first edition in 1995 (just published my 3rd edition). Problem is that I write about a subject my readers (massage therapists) don’t like to deal with: the high rates of injury among massage therapists. Some do so I do sell books, but it’s a touchy subject. I’ve spoken in the past at industry conferences- unfortunately in my industry they don’t pay you to speak, they figure the publicity and chance to sell your book is enough (sigh). But i have a lot of content from these 30 years that I can repackage, and I can also do live webinars with Q&A and consulting for individuals or organizations with an hourly fee. I just really don’t know how one sets this up and gets people to come. I had a Facebook group with nearly 900 people signed up, and I could barely get them to participate no matter how much prodding I did. I’ve done lots of podcasts with little result in sales. If anyone has advice, or if there’s a place in the Classroom here where this is discussed, please let me know. It’s great that Julie talked about this, but I haven’t seen a practical guide to actually doing it. Thanks!

I'm not sure I can offer much more advice here, but you said you've been on podcasts - do you have one of your own? Do you have a YouTube channel? If so I think I'd spend time posting more on the YouTube channel (agree with Gary here), and make short video's - perhaps clips from the podcasts you've been a guest on. I would imagine you have your own website and perhaps having a blog post might work too. My experience is limited in the Massage world - I've had a few - but the massage therapist often moves on and I do not have a consistent person. I wish you the best.
Twilight Zone episode and use of AI today
For those of you who remember Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone - this is an interesting message about the use of AI today - being told through the lens of a Twilight Zone episode. Things that make you go Hmmmmm! https://www.facebook.com/reel/885046144401734
