PART 3: Real Time Ronin Deal Case Study
In my humble opinion, this is probably the most important update to this rolling case study so far...
Partners...
They're important.
Because they're one side of the equation.
Or like in this case, there are TWO partners and myself.
No partners?
No deal right?
Well...
Not so fast.
What I desperately hope to convey in this bumbly mess of a message?
There's something FAR MORE PARAMOUNT than a partner's agreement to be involved in a deal.
But the challenge of just giving it to you?
I'm not so sure that's gonna land as deep as I know is necessary.
So let me set this up for ya before I just plop it on the table.
As I pointed out in Post #2: I had gotten myself a Prawdukt partner.
Negotiated the deal on a Saturday.
And I got EXACTLY what I wanted.
So I went to the list owner and said, "Great news! I've got a perfect little deal put together..."
When I shared the deets?
She wasn't so happy.
Regardless that none of what I had set up affected her bottom line or energy.
We just uncovered Red Flag...
Control.
"Tony, this is MY list and I wanna have a say in how things are gonna go. Matter of fact I wanna see his agreement..."
Aaaaaand as you can imagine?
My first thought was, "Houston, we have a PROBLEM..."
So my response?
"Cool. We can just NOT do the deal...
...and I'm ok with that.
I wanted to do this deal.
But I don't HAVE to do this deal."
And of course, I proceeded to share how this could go or not go at this point...
I did it in a kind tone of course.
But I was ready to kill the deal completely.
Because here's what's WAY more important than a partner...
It's our STANCE and WHERE WE COME FROM as Ronin that determines the EASE and SPEED of cash flow...
I'll be frank, this is the FIRST 100k+ email list I've got a hold of like this.
And one could say I've made a spectacle of myself because I've done two posts in this group showing the process.
My ego could be like, "WOW THIS DEAL IS COMING APART! I'M GONNA LOOK BAD TO MY FELLOW RONIN! I gotta keep it together!..."
And then proceed to walk on eggshells with the list partner.
No, thank you.
I'll pass...
Or, I could sit back and see REALITY for what it is.
I've got a TON of deal flow coming my way.
Sometimes DAILY.
I say, "NO" to deals...WAY more than I "yes"...
And why do I say no more than yes?
Because I don't wanna take on STRESSFUL deals.
I love my PEACE.
And what keeps my peace?
I'm the muther fuck'n chooser!
And so in this case, I chose the latter.
My focus isn't on the money upfront...
...it's on whether I'm having fun doing the deals.
If I'm not having fun?
Then it's over.
MONEY IS NOT MY MASTER.
So...
I kindly said we can kill the deal or let me do what I do.
But how I do it isn't up for discussion (in a kind tone).
All in all, I still felt purty darn impressed with myself afterward...
I was prepared to walk away from this deal and let it crash and burn along with my identity and reputation lol.
I figured like everything else in my life?
I've turned plenty of shit into sugar. This is no different.
I've turned plenty of wounds into wisdom in my 50 years...
This Ronin deal and its rolling case study could be a 3 part trilogy that ended with a quiet puff of nothing and I was ok with it.
I choose my INNER peace over everything else.
And for that I was proud.
But don't celebrate with balloons and cake just yet...
Come Monday morning, I got a message from prawdukt owner saying he had changed his mind.
And that he was OUT.
ZERO explanation why.
Ever had someone you loved with all your heart break up with ya and not give you a reason why?
IT HURTS.
NOT KNOWING HURTS EVEN MORE LOL.
I was KINDA in the same boat lol.
I immediately felt like I did something wrong.
Like I had just shoved a round peg into a square hole.
They wished me the best and that was it.
And just like when I was broke up with as a young lad?
OF COURSE, I sent him an email back asking (more with a tone of pleading)...
"Oh gosh! I'm so sorry. Was there something you didn't like in the agreement?
Nothing we can renegotiate?..."
And just like that?
I had lost my Ronin way...
[INSIGHT: I did talk to Travis about this and he said it's likely there was something the prawdukt owner was afraid to disclose about his product like refunds etc. More so than something I might have done.]
Point being...
I came from a place where I was ATTACHED...
And RONIN's aren't attached.
Because we serve NO MASTER.
So yes...
I lost my way for a hot minute.
But after I composed myself?
It was back to the drawing board.
Current update?
List owner is being SUPER kind and courteous as we're looking for new a new prawdukt and picking new dates.
I have 2 more calls with prawdukt owners this week so...
As of now, THIS DEAL STILL HAS WHEELS...
But this update serves as a warning that even seasoned Ronin can at times lose their way.
And they can find it again JUST as quickly.
I'm in the deeper end of the pool with this deal where there are more moving parts and PEOPLE.
And you know what?
I ain't attached.
Now it's fun.
I've still got my plate FULL of deals and I'm already booked out till early August right now.
It's likely my September and October will be filled up in the next 30 days too.
I'm the chooser.
