So I’m working on a FUN-NEL in REAL TIME. (NOT in my head!) The dude watches my video and replies back… “I love the open loop.” Before you look at the pic… How would you respond? Then look at the pic. 👉 And comment WHY I responded the way I did! 👇 If we get 50 comments I’ll show you the REST of the convo! (I’ll unlock more in the comments as we get closer to the answer.) Update: See full convo and breakdown 👇

His focus is on the loop, not on your offer.
Would Auction not work in Chess niche?
I talked to someone in the chess niche about partnering on auctions. He has a free community with 1.3K members and 50 daily active members. And a paid one, He has launched this week at $39/month and has 6 members. Works with an operator. He didn’t see how auctions fit his niche. He didn’t believe auctions could hit ten-grand months. He kept comparing auctions to his reliable YouTube to paid community funnel. And I found myself trying not to convince… but also not wanting to ignore the questions either. That’s where I got stuck. What would you say to someone smart, reasonable, and simply asking, “Why would auctions outperform what’s already working in my niche?”

I think I focused more on the upside and did not focus much on the downside. Will try again. Thank you.
Before I send this... did I get it right?
Hey @Travis Sago, about to send this pre-auction email to the guy we talked about in the other thread... Meta Ads expert / Marketing Agency growth expert. His audience are a) business owners running ads for their own brands b) media buyers (agency owners + freelancers) Trying to figure out if I should do a Dutch or common auction. And whether there's enough demand to make the 1-on-1 consulting / coaching worthwhile. Here's what I've whipped up: "Hey NAME, I’m thinking about doing something fun. And possibly crazy. Not sure if I should, though. Can you help me decide, por favor? If I were to auction off a slot – maybe two – for me to be your wingman… And help you increase the ROAS you’re getting for your brand or for your clients, add $10k per month to your business (or more, depending on where you are), increase your client retention, your profits, or whatever is holding you back at the moment… …would you bid at least $1? I’ll only do it if enough people tell me they would bid for it… Reply to this email and let me know which option applies to you. A) I’m in, I’ll bid at least $1 B) Not sure. I’d need more details before placing any bid C) I’d rather sort my spam folder alphabetically than take part in the auction" What can I improve here?

You don’t need to promise ROAS boosts or $10k months in the email. That’s “salesy brain” trying to sneak in. When you do that, people start evaluating instead of reacting. Make it lighter. Something like: “Thinking about doing something kinda reckless. Not sure if I should. Need a sanity check. If I auctioned off a ‘work with me’ slot… where I jump in your ad account or your client accounts and fix whatever’s leaking… Would you throw at least a buck at it? Not asking you to commit to anything. Just wanna see if I’ve lost my mind.” Remember: the pre-auction email isn’t the pitch. Let them sell themselves by raising their hand.
First auction campaign is looking pretty promising....
Still have about 4 hours left to go but I wanted to drop in and share my excitement. Very real possibility of pulling 6 figs on this one. Not bad for @Marcus Karl & I's first auction! LOOONNNGGGG writeup coming next week to share the good, the bad, and the ugly. :)

This dude charges $15K per buildout… so is auction the wrong tool?
I reached out to someone who doubled the upsell take rate for a client. So I asked if he wanted more clients and floated the idea of using auctions to find people who’d pay for his strategy. He liked the idea…Until he said this: “I don’t work with just anybody. I charge $10K–$15K for a buildout. I handpick clients. It’s usually something that gets discussed over a call.” That’s where I froze. Because he’s not wrong. But I’m wondering... Is there a clean way for someone like this to use auctions without cheapening their positioning? Or… is auction just not the right tool here? Curious how ya’ll would respond.

@Travis Sago This would be my first deal with him, so I don't want to use a Dutch auction, as I haven't done one myself. (yet) In his text, he mentioned that he is doing calls, so I was thinking of changing the offer. Instead of offering to get him clients, what if I ask him to auction a Zoom training? Like you mentioned here. And present it to him as getting paid to filter out his prospects?
