Barrowing Credibility VS. Giving
Goood questionn that came to mind today!
I’m wondering what’s better to lead with — and whether one option feels inauthentic.
Option 1: Open with social proof (barrowing credibility) “My partner just closed a $126K auction.” (Plus follow-ups around that while testing a new painpoint in each follow-up)
Option 2: Lead by giving extra value upfront, building goodwill first.
My concern is this: If I lead with Tony’s result, could it create friction? Like - “Why are you telling me about someone else’s result if it isn’t yours?”
