I had a bunch of coffee dates earlier this month with possible auction partners. The first auction resulting from those coffee dates just wrapped up this past Thursday. It was a quiet and small affair: A group of 150 people, and not a lot of chatter outside of a handful of people putting down their bids. The result was $15k from the winning bidder, and another $15k tapped in from a second high bidder. @Chris Dyson was doing the tapping and getting the truth out on the table like nobody's business, while I was trying to keep the room chirpy. Chris and I did some analysis afterwards. We concluded that with a slight tweak to the positioning of the offer, we could have gotten way more people interested in this auction... and possibly gotten a way higher winning bid. A lesson for next time. As it is, the auction well exceeded the partner's original expectations... Chris and I made some nice money for a day's work... and I've finally lost my partner virginity (inappropriate?) for an auction or really any kind of a Ronin deal. Definitely a win!

Starting a test with a new partner, and his ESP won't let him set a custom "Reply-to" email address. The sending and reply addresses have to be the same. The partner created me a reply to email address on his regular sending domain. So if we use that address as the sending address too, will it create any deliverability problems? The domain itself has good reputation, but the address he created for me is just 2 days old.

Ever done one? Dumb idea? 😂 Our partner is resisting skool and sells pretty successfully on whatsapp. He thinks he could get 50-100 leads in a group. My head's already spinning at the idea of tracking the leads after an auction, am I crazy to even consider this?
