Post St Patrick’s day festivities that began at 29 degrees on Tuesday gave way to today where we are expecting temps in the mid 80’s. After a day of recovery from the band mayhem, I am in mood for two of my other favorite avocations: sailing and fly fishing. So my WFH outfit is an ode to both. Orvis has become my Achilles' heel over the past 35 years I have been fly fishing. This 160 year old company beacons me like a sirens song. I am enamored by every fly fishing store I can slither into when traveling. I’ve had two opportunities to buy an Orvis store. But the allure of owning a retail store, was shocked back into reality from my years of working in retail for 10 years (plus my wife’s family owning a venerable institution in the OKC area: Clarke’s Pastry est 1946). Nevertheless there are several items with an Orvis label in my closet. ootd Orvis plaid shirt Orvis heavy gauge 5 pockets (once upon a time they were a deeper shade of khaki perhaps 35 yrs ago) Darn Tough merino wool socks with Salmon Sperry Topsiders in blue Orvis field watch green dial Plus toys including a 6’ one piece bamboo rod manufactured April 6, 1956 (bought at an estate sale) Tight lines AND full sails brothers.

Fun Fit Friday, that’s what I am calling today. I decided to go with a fun outfit for today, I wanted to wear the new Pork Pie from Brixton and built this outfit with that in mind. I was umming and raring about the tie but I think it works nicely. I have also attached my latest video attempt. The app I have is pretty easy to use. It is called Vids, you go in and find a template you like, that see what type of media is required and just snap or film what it shows. I need to do a little refinement to make sure I am getting the parts of the videos I want. So I came upon this coat and trousers ensemble today and was especially intrigued by the weight of the trousers. They are somewhat high waisted and heavy, and will need to be altered. Surprisingly, the three-roll-two jacket fit perfectly. The label inside the jacket says Mister Guy, which advertises itself as a fine men’s clothing store in St. Louis. I really don’t know how to describe the wool cloth or the pattern, but I cannot wait until next fall to put together an English/country outfit in the spirit of @Brian McGuire. Oh, and forgive the polo shirt…I was trying to hurry and get photos. Coat and trousers like new…$18.00. So, as I study the pics, I probably needed to stand up straighter. It would make the shoulders fit better and shorten the sleeves. It was a long day! 🥴
