Today’s the last day of the Annual Show! I have an industry board meeting this morning then to finish on the show floor, then tear down and pack up a couple of my guys so they can get on the road. The rest of my team and I will leave tomorrow. While a bit more casual with wearing denim it’s a better choice when tearing down the show and loading equipment on to trailers. It handles the dirt and grime much better than normal trouser fabric. Have a great day everyone

One of the big three is Function what to wear, when, and why. The key to wearing things intentionally is to be reasonably Flexible: (absolutes like “you will never see ME in a ball cap”. Welllll??!!). And the value of Consistancy: if one is consistently dressed in things other than a graphic T, Hoodie, or ball cap-then on the rare occasion of seeing someone in one, this won’t change people’s perception of some one as a dapper dresser (if that is what someone is aspiring to be) After being up all night with pop at the hospital, I could have shown up in the RL solid charcoal long sleeve T and Black Levi’s I slept in the chair wearing. But since the charity golf tournament today has some $10,000 a pay period of my clients playing in it (as well as my business partner), the least I could do is show up showered and straightened. I grabbed a red long sleeve polo shirt, casual khakis, Pendleton socks Clark’s derbies my Borealis dive watch , and vey well used RL canoeing long billed Ball cap.

It's the weekend and it's been a great week for the company. Lots of contract movement and moving forward for a chaotic and good end to the year. I am starting to plan my outfits for my conference in Vienna, running from November 7-13. My style consultant is planning several outfits that will allow me to easily change from a daytime conference suit to an evening dinner outfit without requiring a complete outfit change. I have a few days before the conference with some additional meetings where I am planning everything, so this weekend begins planning for those outfits. Last autumn/winter season found me totally unprepared for business meetings with such attire. Now I have warm suits, 3-piece suits, formal business gloves, double- and single-breaster full-length overcoats, and hats. I am debating on adding a scarf or two, but am worried about incorporating these at a big meeting without ever having worn them before. Today was a basic suit day while also working on my Friday rules (using a few items with very few wears in their history). It reminder me that my collection of ties is going to become problematic. If I truly balance the wears across the ties, I am now at no more than 3.2 wears per ties for the entire year. I have balanced the selection of ties in my AI app so that 70% of my tie choices come from ties purchased new vs. those from eBay and the like, as these are ties I have selected very specifically. A cool-toned light-gray windowpane suit is grounded by a bespoke white shirt and matte blue wool tie, then warmed with a disciplined oxblood-and-brown leather story. The colour is so nice, the change from burnishing to the warm walnut colour.
