Seeing the family off for their final trip of the summer. When they return next week, Logan heads to his dorms and Nathanial begins 8th grade. Montblanc agreed to exchange my 149 and I took care of that today. The senior associate in the store wrote with my old 149 and was appalled at the way the nib performed, immediately seeing the problems. On the work front, I'm looking forward to having a weekend of catch up on our current crazy project, beginning with a meeting this afternoon to plan out next week. I find the Friday planning meetings let me begin Monday with a bang right away: everyone knows their immediate assignment when they arrive on Monday and can get moving. I have not worn a pin collar in a while and find that my ability to fasten them up has dramatically sped up! The entire pin took less than 60 seconds. It might be a bit of a contrast to the more relaxed vest without a jacket look, but I rather like it. Friday Rotation: Ivory, Italian Blue, Yellow Paisley, and Brown Leather Friday-rule results: The outfit prioritizes lightly worn pieces: CL-029 has 1 recorded wear; NT-062, PS-019, TA-007, and FR-025 have 2 each; DS-038 and VWC-016 have 4 each. None is literally within the current 35 least-worn items because that group is presently occupied by zero-wear inventory, but the outfit substantially advances rotation while preserving harmony. • Vest — VWC-016 (Hockerty): An ivory, custom-MTO LIDO vest in linen, fully lined in white silk and finished with four cream mother-of-pearl buttons. The notched lapels and clean single-breasted design give the summer outfit structure without the weight of a jacket. • Trousers — SL-005 (Santorelli): Italian-blue textured odd trousers in wool, providing a saturated foundation beneath the ivory vest. • Shirt — DS-038 (Savile Row Company): A custom-size 16 white cotton-twill shirt with rounded French cuffs and a distinctive 3.25-inch pinhole collar. The formal white ground keeps the yellow paisley tie crisp and gives the collar pin a clean architectural frame.

Nice
A great find
While the rest of the clan napped between touring along the river Leith and the Edinburgh suburb of Stockbridge https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lQARntIxP-c and the Royal military tattoo at 9:30 pm last night https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BxxKW50tlCU&ra=m I snuck away on a 4 minute walk to a little touch of heaven. Stewart and Christie, founded in 1720 is a menswear store that does bespoke suiting as well as custom kilts. https://stewartchristie.com I spent well over an hour talking to Jake the clothier. We even worked up a custom Argyle tweed Kilt sport coat and a custom Co Fermanagh tartan kilt. The entire bottom floor is for custom kilts. Jake explained how many clients come up from London. Not only is their pricing better but their entire bespoke team, cutter, tailor and clothier work within a few yards of each other which isn’t the case in many locations in Saville Row any longer. Next to Classic timeless American Ivy menswear, my favorite style is UK country. This store not only sources from the best mills in Scotland and Ireland but owns their own mill as well. I could hang out on there for days and talk to these guys but alas I am on a family vacation and that was only my first full day in Scotland. I bought a tattersall shirt in cream with an olive and burgundy line and a deep burgundy wool/silk club tie and some socks. Their pricing off the peg as they call it is about half what I can get at full price back home. A couple of those and I’ve paid for my future trip! Planning on returning.
