I've been assembling this outfit for 6 months, getting ready for the cruise. I've never worn the shoes nor the jacket (and vis-a-vis never worn the full suit), and I've been researching the details during this time. The shoes are a real pride find: RLPL by Crocket & Jones white bucks, never worn. They are certainly very limited use items, but I went into the purchase with eyes wide open in that regard. Got lots of compliments around the cruise ship on the outfit, with several men knowing it was seersucker. Sadly, however, the formal dress for most men was a polo shirt while the women (the same couple) were in flowing dresses. Thanks to @Chad Smith and others for the idea of the accessory pic. I've got the leather carry again as I went out after dinner to do some work as the family rested up. Mother of pearl (or similar) buttons with cream wrist buttons (4 per sleeve). Left slanted chest pocket and paired flap hip pockets.

Yesterday was a full day beginning with yoga stretches, weightlifting, swimming before a trip over to the Tulsa office to have a lunch with a prospective Advisor joining us. Then a return home for some martial arts. After 4 days of dealing with pop in the hospital (who is now back at home thank the Lord), I was in bed by 8:30. Today I built an Executive Business Casual ensemble around two pieces that deserve more wrist and waist time: my honey-cognac ostrich leather belt and my vintage-inspired Alpina. With a little assistance from AI—and a tour through my wardrobe—I settled on a light blue patterned Bugatchi shirt, tailored tan trousers, and my favorite cognac cap-toe brogues. To keep the look boardroom-ready, a navy hopsack blazer stands by for any last-minute meeting that finds its way onto the calendar. What makes this combination work is harmony rather than contrast. The warm cognac tones of the belt, watch strap, and shoes create a consistent visual thread, while the light blue shirt keeps the palette crisp, fresh, and approachable. The rectangular Alpina, with its subtle Art Deco lines, brings a distinctive vintage elegance that’s a refreshing departure from the sea of round dress watches. Sometimes the best outfits aren’t built around a jacket or a pair of shoes—they’re built around the details. Today, the ostrich leather accessories set the tone, and everything else simply fell into place.
