I’m driving my 23-year-old daughter from Columbus, GA., to Macon, GA. for her last state board esthetician exam. It will be just the two of us since my wife couldn’t get the extra time off. I’m confident that my Snowflake will pass not only because she’s prepared, but also because she picked out this shirt. Purple is her favorite color. You, gentlemen, know that Old Dad doesn’t get many wins at this stage, but we celebrate them when we can until we have to pay extra, though.

A few random thoughts about the journey of the ambitious: 1. You're going to lose way more than you win. You’re going to screw up way more than you do right. If you make a legitimate effort to improve and keep going, things will work out. 2. Surround yourself with smarter people than you, as fast as possible. 3. When you screw up… do your best to make it right. 4. When things are good try to remember that you don't know that much and you aren't that good. 5. When things are bad, remember that people have gone through much harder circumstances than you are currently facing and still won big in life. 6. It's a duty to keep going and build a good life because others will win or lose in life from the example you set. 7. Apologize when you're wrong. 8. The less skill you have, the tougher you have to be. 9. Nobody has it figured out … especially the people who pretend to. 10. Keep going. It's worth it. ~ Andy Frisella
