CW = critiques welcome - always! Starting to switch to baseball tournament mode given that we leave for 5 days starting tomorrow. Better still, my son got an early invite onto the 14U national team for his travel ball group. It made his entire summer. That said, as tryouts have not finished, we can't share this good news during the tournament especially since a few members that did try out will not make the national team (we have some nationally ranked players that tried out this summer, thus some room will need to be made). Coaching my son how to manage his excitement but understand the concern his news can have on others is part of being a father raising a gentleman. Today's outfit has a suit I do not wear enough. I forget how well it fits. There's also a new ancient madder tie from Kirby Allison is a great array of dark colors. All of this let me break out the Montblanc leather bag for the first time as I will need it for a late day meeting out of the office. • Dress Shirt — DS-048 (Charles Tyrwhitt): Ivory non-iron twill with French cuffs. 2-ply cotton construction from Vietnam with adjustable French cuffs that allow cufflink display on video calls. The slim cut provides a clean silhouette while the 5/5 stitch density ensures premium construction. Formality: 5/5 (semi-formal/board meeting ready). 🔷 TUESDAY RULE: 3 wears | CPW: $34.07 | Rank #530 of 48 dress shirts • Slacks — SL-021 (Ralph Lauren): Mid-gray wool with basket weave and shadow stripe. Part of a 2-button single-breasted suit from Canada via eBay. Features 2 outward pleats per side, slant pockets, and slight sheen for business classic formality. Pairs with jacket SJ-012. 🔷 TUESDAY RULE: Part of SJ-012 suit set • Suit Jacket — SJ-012 (Ralph Lauren): Mid-gray wool 2-button single-breasted from Canada. Full-lined with rope & padded shoulders and high/moderate armholes. Mother of pearl buttons with yes-shanks, 4 gray swirl wrist buttons, notched lapels, and single rear vent. Business formal presence. 🔷 TUESDAY RULE: 3 wears | CPW: $16.37 | Rank #466 of 16 matching suit jackets | Top 19%

Reflection of Time
Good morning gentlemen: I woke up this morning and I was reflecting on just how blessed I am. I turned 59 years old today and I am so thankful for everything that I have experienced in life, yes even the scars of pain, hurt, and suffering. My grandfather told me once, to never be ashamed of the scars from the things that you have endured in your life. Instead wear them as a badge and with pride, because those scars represent that whatever tried to destroy you failed. Yes, do wish that there were things that I did; that I could have, should have done differently, but again those things made me who I am today. I have a a beautiful bride, a loving family, a job they I actually enjoy, and I am doing things that I never thought that I would be doing until I met all of you gentlemen here. When I started this journey of becoming a gentleman; mind you I was raised to be one, I never would have figured the impact that it would have on my life as a whole. But being around you gentlemen, meeting, networking, and sharing has not only made me a better person but has shown me that there is still hope for the world that we live in. This year when I decided to be more intentional, to focus on getting back to the basic, to going back to certain aspects of analog living, realized the importance of being a gentleman, why we should live as gentlemen and the impact we can make in this world. When I launched the two podcast a few months ago The Gentleman’s Forum and The Gentlemen of Faith podcasts, that is now on 10 platforms platforms like iHeart Radio, Apple Podcast, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, I never knew the impact that it could make on the lives of so many people. To share and invite other gentlemen to the podcast and for them to share their lives, their experiences, and to discuss things, this has been a truly remarkable experience. So as I celebrate 59 years of life, love, and service, I want to share this day with people that I hold dear to me, along with my family, and this is all of you. And for those who would like to give me a birthday gift this is what I would like. Your friendship, keep spreading the gentlemen qualities that you all have and help bring peace, chivalry, morality , and grace back to this world. Because the best gift that you could give me, is you reading this because, it lets me know that you are a friend and a gentleman in this society.
The dressier chore coat!
I have read a lot about the style-quotient of the historical chore coat (Antonio has a video too). Unfortunately, there aren't many makers around in India. But, that was only until now when I found an MTM designer (in Bangalore), and I quickly grabbed my piece! We had a date night last Sunday. My OOTD consisted of: LAYERING PIECE: Sand chore coat in cotton twill (9 Oz) MTM TEE: Burnt orange in supima cotton TROUSERS: Beige cotton MTM SHOES: Tan moccasins in nubuck leather WATCH: Saddle tan strap, gold on silver frame BRACELET: Tiger Eye BELT: Cognac reversible with traditional holes The chore coat has stylish flap pockets at the bottom but the upper pockets are hidden inside (this is how they have reinvented the style). I am not complaining 😎 Your comments are most welcome!
