The (more nuanced) style pyramid
Some of the best dressed gentlemen in this group show us the way on how to elevate our style. The foundation that we all know is the 3F pyramid: Fir, Fabric, and Function. A dimension of style that seamlessly works with the 3F structure is the fourth F-FLEXIBILITY with colors and patterns. Seen red and diagonally striped ties? Amazingly attractive socks? Muted colors working well interchangeably is another example. Using the color wheel for non-traditional colors is another. To substantiate my point, I am adding three of my own examples. You must have also seen some great examples from our group members. Some work in formal and semi-formal contexts and the rest in casual ones. Let me know what you think about this "theoretical elaboration." The PhD research experience in me just doe not fade (we develop theories during research!).

@Stephen Horner Wonderful!
OOTD - Colour Matching
More of a drive-by OOTD today. Nothing particularly stylish or elevated. Polo, chinos, waterproof boots and jacket, good for the thunder-hail we had earlier. Only posting because I do rather like my colour coordination with jacket, polo and watch. Oh! And take the second picture as a cautionary tale of the Importance of Considered Tucking. Without due care, you could end up like me, with a torso that resembles Cthulhu.

@Craig Stevenson I am with Chad for the trouser adjustment. But, the color combination is pleasing to the eye! You get an A (little shy of A+) for the casual context. 😀
Making The Best of Everyday
When you try to do what’s right and treat people right, people respect you and will stand in the gap for you when you need help. Asking or accepting help do not make you less of a gentleman, just the opposite it means you recognize your limitations and that you are not perfect. This type of humility is what bring a those people in your life that are genuine and will be there when you need them because they you will be there for them. An it’s because of this I have met some tremendous people here and have built relationships that will last. I am blessed.

@Anthony Buntyn Very sharp sir.
Remembering my Dad-OOTD
Today marks four years since my dad answered the Lord’s call. Though the ache remains, I choose to celebrate him — the man who mentored me in style, teaching me that looking good is more than clothes, it’s confidence and presence. His lessons live on in me, shaping how I walk through life.

@Shupa Simpukile Great souls leave but their legacy will always continue. You carry on your father's legacy (the attitude, the behavior). 🙏
