This Stops Being About Clothes
There's a shift that happens for some men. They stop asking "does this look okay?" and start knowing. Not because they memorized rules — but because they've built a standard for themselves. A quiet confidence that doesn't need to announce itself. You see it in how they walk into a room. In how people respond to them before they say a word. In how much mental energy they have left for things that actually matter. That's not style. That's identity. And identity isn't bought — it's built, through consistent habits and deliberate choices made over time. That's what RMRS Premium is designed for. Not trends. Not outfit grids. A structured path to becoming the man who looks sharp because of who he is — not what he's wearing. If that shift sounds like something you want, the door's open: https://www.skool.com/rmrs/plans

What's your passion
Last night, while making my way through more Chap's Guide archive of videos on YouTube, one of his videos on becoming the person you want to be, is to have a passion. YouTube then suggested a very different video. I have seen it before, but wow does it typify passion. It's the last song played at the 2004 Rock & Roll HoF induction concert. Several of the inductees from that night were asked to play While My Guitar Gently Weeps (George Harrison song who was posthumously inducted in 2004). Prince was asked to play the guitar solo at the end of the song. I like Prince, but most of his music is too pop for me. Forget everything you think you know about him and watch the video. It shows, exudes, and syphons passion in a way that made me realize my neglect for my true passion. Propitiously, the song is extremely fitting, as the passion I have is music, specifically drumming. Engaging your passion gives more meaning and sentiment to all of your life. What are your passions? Have you been finding time to engage with your passions on a regular basis?

So, another graduate-school graduate living in Torrance CA (my city) with the name Cole... was a bit of an idiot last night (putting it mildly). Just to be clear, there's no relationship. Whereas I am no fan of the current president, political violence is disgusting, weak, and ultimately futile given the likely reaction. That said, back to some more work catch up and probably some shoe care later today. Another casual outfit for the day at home. • Shirt — LS-008 (Tommy Bahama): A high-opacity navy long-sleeve cotton pullover shirt with a soft rolled barrel-type collar and contrast white/light-blue stitching and piping. Plastic 3-button placket and small center pocket give it a relaxed, easy-going character — a perfect mild-weather casual layer. • Undershirt — US-011 (Ralph Lauren Polo): A regular-weight navy cotton crew neck in XL, fit rated as good. Worn invisibly under the shirt to maintain an all-navy upper base layer that keeps the look quietly cohesive. • Trousers — PN-008 (Sax): Light tan cotton chinos worn with a belt — a clean, casual neutral that anchors the navy-and-tan palette and pairs effortlessly with both the shirt and the casual footwear. • Belt — B-007 (Milorde): A navy genuine leather belt with a single-keeper construction and a silver buckle, sized 34 with a good fit. The navy belt pulls the upper navy of the shirt down through the waist, creating intentional tonal continuity against the tan chinos. • Footwear — CSh-002 (Nordstrom): Medium-blue and white vented slip-ons with rubber soles — a casual, breathable shoe ideal for a mild-weather day around the house. The blue tones echo the shirt and belt while keeping the overall mood relaxed and playful. • Socks — DSo-019 (Calvin Klein): Navy and light-blue dress socks with a Short-Short-Long stripe pattern. The navy ground ties to the shirt and belt, while the light-blue stripes nod to the medium-blue casual slip-ons — a subtle, well-coordinated finish. • Pen — P-002 (Montblanc Meisterstück 149): The flagship fountain pen in black precious resin with platinum trim, an 18K gold BB nib, and a piston filler. Substantial in the hand and unmistakably iconic — even on a casual day, it's the always-on writing instrument for notes and planning.
