OOTD - Saturday 25 April (ANZAC Day)
If you are in the US think Memorial Day, or Veterans Day ANZAC stands for the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, formed in World War I. It’s also used to describe the soldiers from those forcesβ€”especially remembered for the Gallipoli campaign and ANZAC Day commemorations. The Gallipoli landing happened on 25 April 1915, and the ANZAC service starts at 0530 with the Bugle playing Reveille at the Sun breaches into the day. This morning Nicole read the Ode at the service, I will put it below β€œThey went with songs to the battle, They were young, straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow, They were staunch to the end against odds uncountered, they fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, As we that are left grow old, Age shall not weary them, nor the years condem them, At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. CROWD - WE WILL REMEMBER THEM Lest We Forget. CROWD - LET WE FORGET This is then followed by The Last Post, 2 minutes science and then Reveille. Then the NAtional anthems of New Zealand πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ and Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Todays outfit consists of; M.J. Bale Pascal Pea Coat in Navy crafted from 100% merino wool and woven in a Super 110's cloth. M.J. Bale Aston suit crafted from 100% Australian Merino Wool for a superior feel with natural stretch finish. The result is a garment that wears with you, not against you. The cloth has a subtle Grey Glen Check and a Nvay Overcheck that produces a delightful Prince of Wales Check pattern. Charles Tyrwhitt Semi-Cutaway Egyptian Cotton Stripe Shirt in Cobalt Blue OTAA Red Poppy Floral Necktie OTAA Shining Silver Tie Clip Stanton Gentlemen Fedora in Charcaol Anson Blue Leather Strap on a Classic Curved buckle in Gun Metal OTAA Marine Blue Ribbed Socks CNES MTO Oxford Goodyear welted construction Built on the 794 last, crafted from Italian crust leather SOTD - Montale Red TObacco WOTD - Praesidus Victory Sands - Cream I am also wearing my Returned Serviceman Lapel Pin and Mt Service medals.

The Mrs and I ran over to Tulsa to pick up my repaired Bimini (canopy for the cockpit of my sailboat). I have been in need of some new shoes for a VERY LONG time. We popped into see Travers Mahan at his namesake store. Travers started in clothing when I was in grade school. His knowledge of menswear surpasses mine by many exponentials. He is infinitely more experienced in clothing than I. I always love speaking with him. His son, wife, and Daughter in Law all work at the store and he carries through that family business attitude by buying from family businesses. One such company is Martin Dingman. Martin was the accessory designer for Cole Haan back when Cole Haan was Cole Haan. A fantastic shoe company. I wore my 1982 Cole Haan Waxhides and naturally Travers gave me a lot of grief. So I bought a new pair of bridle loafers. It’s ok I needed some brown shoes to compliment the two pair of deep tans I own. Tomorrow is a big promotional day where he throws in a Martin Dingman belt while old fashions (cocktails) are being served- so he threw in a belt tonight for me to seal the deal. Then Anita and I went out for a delicious Italian dinner. OOTE β€’Pink Rl polo picked up in August in Aruba β€’Tan Gaberdine Samuelsohn trousers picked up last month β€’Pantherella socks bought from Travers last year β€’and the new shoes and belt This is completely blowing the average age of my wardrobe 😎 https://martindingman.com/collections/loafers-drivers?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1051546313&gbraid=0AAAAAD3og8aoNstt3Clkiy-otDUNp0uBg&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqtyN1OWHlAMVYkd_AB0LqTEWEAAYASABEgLlhPD_BwE https://traversmahanapparel.com
