The Truth About Playing Small
I read this today and thought this is something that my friend @Anthony Buntyn would post, albeit with more grounded language and a fashion focus on taking charge of your life and what others think is irrelevant. Plus, itâs got a little Harvey Specter mixed in. 99% of the time you play small because of what âtheyâ might think⌠âŚthe âtheyâ only exists in your head. And the other 1% of the time? The people youâre afraid of judging you are the same people you look at in real life and think: âWhat the hell happened to this person?â Most of the people talking crap about you trying to win⌠Trying to improve⌠Trying to build a great life⌠âŚare real-life losers contributing virtually nothing of value to anyone. Definitely not to you. So of course they hate you. Youâd probably hate you too if you were them. But youâre not them. Youâre you. âŚand here you are censoring yourself and playing small for those clowns? Think about it honestly⌠What do these people actually contribute to society? What do they contribute to your life? âTheyâ are the skid marks in societyâs underwear. Their life is punishment enough. Remember that. Winning big and being happy is the ultimate âscrew youâ you could ever deliver. So go do that. And understand this too⌠When you go build a kick ass life⌠Other people see whatâs possible for themselves. Thereâs real nobility in that. ~ Andy Frisella
