Kind of going all in with Bonobos today: - Bonobos unstructured lightweight jacket - Bonobos dress chinos - Bonobos dress spread color shirt - Random braided leather belt from Amazon - Nordstrom brand pocket square - Ferragamo suede loafers - Omega Speedmaster Annual Calendar - Dior Homme 2020 to top it all off

What’s your budget for “smart upgrades” per month?
When you’re leveling up your style, what’s your realistic monthly budget for upgrades (shirts, shoes, tailoring, grooming, etc.)? Drop your vote — and if you want, comment what you’d prioritize first (shoes, jacket, basics, tailoring).

I’ve been losing weight and now fit back into some banger classics in my closet, so I don’t need much of a budget for upgrades right now!
Functional But Fashionable WINTER Footwear
I not very hopeful about this, but I thought I'd ask anyhow. Is anyone familiar with a brand that makes fashionable (looks good with chinos, shirt, tie, and overcoat) winter footwear that could meet the following functional criteria: - Warm for up to an hour at -40C / 40 below F - Water resistant - Salt resistant - Can handle trudging through 16 inches of snow - Extra wide widths - Budget Friendly ~ $100 US / $150 CAD Like I said, I'm not very hopeful. I usually carry my good shoes to work in a bag but, because I take the bus, I'm frequently doing things like shopping, going out to dinner with friends, etc on my way home, so I'm not going to be swapping out of and carrying my outer footwear around in those situations.

Could you get away with a 3E or 5E? https://www.zappos.com/p/mens-propet-cortland-brown-olive/product/9909245/color/12898 If not, then maybe this? https://www.zappos.com/p/mens-wolverine-floorhand-soft-toe-dark-brown/product/8889271/color/325 I think either of those would look just fine with khakis in the winter time. But if you want something more like a shoe than a boot, there's this: https://www.zappos.com/p/mens-rockport-main-route-northfield-waterproof-espresso-nubuck/product/7133667/color/360
Miami conference OOTD
In Miami for a conference starting today. Thought I’d wear: - Bonobos unstructured wool jacket in Navy - Eton lavender silk pocket square - Hawes & Curtis cutaway collar button down shirt in White - Bonobos Chino 2.0 slacks in Oyster - Ferragamo chocolate suede leather loafers, no socks - Omega Dynamic Chronograph III with brown strap - Random brown braided leather belt I found on Amazon - Wearing Jo Milano Game of Soades Full House (LV Imagination dupe) The unstructured jacket has no liner and a loose weave so it should be ok in the heat here today

Is this ok?
I have a question about sports jackets. Can you wear a t shirt that is a solid color with a sports jacket? If the t shirt is the perfect size for you is it ok?

Absolutely! But it has to be a good t-shirt, ideally heavier weight and a nicer material (eg Supima or Pima cotton), but most importantly the collar has to be in good shape ie not saggy or stretched at the neck. You’ll want to match with more casual pants or jeans for sure, and can even go with sneakers (again, ideally pristine like clean white leather sneakers)
