My First Panama Hat!!
I have been looking for a proper hat for a LONG time. When I was 19 I had bought a Fedora from a hatter in NYC, sadly it got lost in a fire and I had never got another. I would walk into stores and try stuff on and they just didn't sit right. All the real hatters in NYC are gone 😢 at least the ones I have been able to find. I have been wanting a Panama hat to help keep me out of the sun during the summer. As a melanoma survivor this is even more important to me. While we were on a family vacation last week I found a store in Italy that sold Borsalino's and Marone's and they help me size and fit the hat. My wife and kids loved the look and I think it fit really well. I'd love your honest feedback. I will be going to England next month and am planning on visiting Locke & Co a 350yr Hat Store and am hoping to get another felt fedora or something similar. Just to reinforce what @Antonio Centeno says getting a hat that fits and the support of your family while you are wearing it makes the whole process much easier!!

Monday New Month
Taking the month of June by force! Half of the year down and time to assess where I am with my yearly goals, personally, career wise, and make any adjustments if needed. Which I am confident I am ahead of my goals and timeframe. But will no later this week at my six month meeting ( with myself) . I hate when those meeting end in fight and arguments! Lol seize the money gentlemen let’s make a difference.

The Raising of Gentleman (Proud Dad Moment)
I just got back from vacation with my family and as I was sitting on the airplane flying home a warm grateful feeling came over me as I was going over the trip in my head. While I have always felt that my wife and I have great boys, I have come to realize that they are Men now and I couldn't be prouder. I have come to realize that my grown boys have not only become Men but also become gentlemen at the same time. This has nothing to do with how they dress (they both dress well) but more about how they act. When I walk down the street with my wife she is always on the inside while I stay on the street side. When we go up a flight of stairs I'm always behind her to catch her if she slips. When we go down stairs I'm always in front for the same reason. This is not something I have discussed with my children just something that has always been natural and I just do it. Well, while we were walking around an old city with no cars my older son and I got into a conversation and got a few paces ahead of his mother and brother. My older son said "where are they"? we looked behind us and there were the 2 of them arm in arm laughing and joking while my younger son helped his mother walk the cobblestone street. 👏. I noticed several of these types of things happen with each child with respect to their mother. Always making sure she was accounted for, helping her with her suitcase, making sure she was enjoying her time with the family and showing up on time well dressed and taking the obligatory family photo without an argument because Mom wished it so! I just wanted to confirm the fact that "more is caught than taught" and I believe my boys will treat some lucky partner of theirs with the same respect they treat their mother and themselves. In this crazy world, I'm here feeling very hopeful that there is a generation of younger people who know what right looks like!!

Big month. My eldest turns 18 on Wednesday and next week graduates from high school and gets his AA from the integrated community college in his high school program. I am super proud of him and the man he has become. Preparing for a quick trip to San Fran tomorrow. Look forward to lunching with one of my longest-term clients and friend in the field. Video call with big client team today, so suited and booted to go with it. • Suit — SJ-007, SL-016 (Peter Millar): A textured gray wool suit from Peter Millar, cut with clean tailored lines and a subtle linear texture that reads sophisticated on camera. The notched lapels and 2-button single-breasted closure project understated authority—ideal for client video conferences where you need gravitas without flash. Q4-2025 retailored for a perfect fit. • Shirt — DS-044 (Charles Tyrwhitt): A white Non-Iron Poplin French cuff dress shirt from Charles Tyrwhitt's slim-fit collection. The semi-spread collar (5" spread, 2.8" height) provides perfect framing for a Half-Windsor knot, while the French cuffs demand proper cufflinks—elevating the entire ensemble. Medium opacity ensures no undershirt shadow on camera. • Undershirt — US-002 (Ralph Lauren Polo): A classic white cotton crew neck undershirt that disappears beneath the opaque white dress shirt. Soft hand, reliable fit, and invisible support for all-day comfort. • Tie — NT-041 (Fort Belvedere): A true navy grenadine silk tie (Garza Grossa weave) from Fort Belvedere—3-fold, untipped, and hand-finished. The matte weave creates beautiful dimpling and texture that reads exceptionally well on video. A Half-Windsor knot complements the semi-spread collar with clean symmetry. This is the quintessential business formal tie—understated yet unmistakably high quality. • Vest — VWC-001 (Hugo Boss): The Hugo Boss Wilson CYL Slim Fit vest in black Super 120s wool. Full-lined with a silver rear buckle for proper fit. Black against the gray suit creates elegant contrast while maintaining formal gravitas appropriate for client meetings. The 4-button single-breasted design is timelessly professional.

Well done my friend.
The Importance Of Nothing.
That was the subject last night of one of Coach Saban's best takes ever. While he was talking about the mindset of his players, Coach Saban taught us all a lesson on a Wednesday night. Said the coach: "You get up every day, and you're entitled to... nothing. Nobody owes you... nothing. You can have talent, but if you don't have discipline and you don't execute and you don't focus, what do you get? Nothing. "If you're complacent and not paying attention to detail, what does that get you? Nothing. So, nothing is acceptable but your best." That, my friend, is an awesome message. So, let's have a great day and give it only our best. Because the lecture on The Importance Of Nothing is something we can all learn from.
